Samsung C5500 Unable to play some .mkv files

Since a few weeks I'm unable to play some mkv files.

When I try to play them, I get a black blank screen and a few seconds later I'm transferred back to the menu.

The profile in the console is set to Samsung C, transcoding is enabled.

A particular file which doesn't play is a 720p with DTS-DCA sound. But in the past I was able to play this file. I have the problem with several MKV files, but not with all. I just can get any logic in it. 'Cause some 720p with DTS-DCA do play...

since yesterday I'm using the 0.5 version of Serviio, but this didn't fix my problem...

Could somebody tell me what my problem is?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Samsung C5500 Unable to play some .mkv files

Are you sure this particular file played before? I can see in the log the TV makes several requests for it and seems to consume it for a while and then stops. That would indicate invalid codec to me.

1) Can you confirm the exact message you see on the screen(if any)
2) Can you post MediaInfo details of the file (of just find out what profile/level the H264 stream is)
3) Did you update your TV firmware recently?

Re: Samsung C5500 Unable to play some .mkv files

I did update the firmware of the Bluray player (which is the media client) but I didn't think it would be such a problem...

After I played a movie last week, today I'm also not able to play this particular movie anymore.

Now I'm not able to play ANY .mkv file anymore...

Could you tell me what is wrong?

Thank u very much!

This is the mediaInfo of the file that did play last week:

Re: Samsung C5500 Unable to play some .mkv files

I've tested a little and came up with this:
in Serviio 0.5 I'm unable to play any .mkv file (the profile is set to Samsung C)
in 0.4.2 I'm able to play several .mkv files but the file below won't play. On my pc i'm able to play the file.

Re: Samsung C5500 Unable to play some .mkv files

same to me at Samsung Blueray Player C5900

But i think , i've found the error.

version 0.4.1 plays .mkv with audio 48.000 Hz
version 0.5 didn't play -mkv with audio 48.000 Hz ,only 44100 or lower.

i've test it with 3 files and demux all of them from 48.000 Hz to 44.100 and now they play with verson 0.5. remux tu 48.000 , and they didn't play

Return to Samsung
