Samsung C5500 Blu-Ray setup

I need the basic "how to" manual on accessing PC files from my Samsung C5500 interface to my TV. Somewhere I'm missing something.

I think I have Serviio set up properly. It recognizes the player as "UNKNOWN 192.168.0.101 Unrecognized device Generic DLNA profile." I have three directories listed in the Serviio library and I selected the types of files that can be shared. In my case, that's home movies and all the digital still pictures I have taken. I used the defaults for everything else.

My Samsung Blu-Ray interface works with Netflix, etc., but how do I connect to the files on my PC? I assume it's in the area called Internet@TV, but there are no movies or photos available.

I tried to setup userid and password in "setup" but even the simplest ones come up invalid when I try to log in. Surely I am missing something very simple that must be explained somewhere. But where?

Also make sure you select Samsung C series profile (instead of the Generic one)

I imagine that's more important when it comes to quality of the media. Right now I can't find all of the files.

I found the movies, but only under "last added" and now, "recently viewed." I had previously pointed Serviio to the movies directory of iTunes. Then I added two movies to iTunes. My Serviio auto library updates occur every five minutes. The two new movies do not show up in my movies list on the TV set. What do I need to do to make the Blu-Ray look again?

As for the movies, the Samsung player seems to order them in a random fashion. Is there any way to make them display chronologically?

The photos are missing entirely. Part of the problem might be the directory organization. PHOTO is a shared folder in Serviio. Under PHOTO I have about 70 directories named for the year and month of the contained photos; 2010-12, for example. Only three months show up on my TV screen and selecting one of them doesn't let me see any photos.

I'm sure most folks would agree with me that the Samsung user interface is very poorly designed. Can anyone tell me why the photos are not available to me and/or how to force a refresh so that more directories (and, ideally, their contents) would become available for viewing?

Did you check the log for what files have been added? It might take some time if you have a huge library.

It has been more than 24 hours. I'm not sure which file you consider to be the log but "recent files added" contains only nine files. They are those marked with ***.

BTW, "Movies" in the TV list contains no files. "Recently viewed" contains all the movies I have watched through this arrangement.

Re: Samsung C5500 Blu-Ray setup

I deleted a few movies and soon more showed up, but the limit seems to be 9 or 10 files (movies). Or I suppose it could be a total file size limit, but that seems unlikely.

Re: Samsung C5500 Blu-Ray setup

Last watched and Last added always includes max 10 files, so it's ok.

Movie/Series categories only iunclude entries in the videos have been recognized as a movie or episode - based on descriptive metadata retrieved online/XBMC/Swisscenter - so make sure that is enabled (on Metadata tab and per folder on Library tab). If it's not enabled you can see all the files in Folders category.

THe log is a text file serviio.log stored in log folder under serviio installation directory.

Re: Samsung C5500 Blu-Ray setup

I found them in the folder. And I ordered them by copying them into another directory in the sequence in which I want them displayed.
