M series?

hi

i have xxMU6172xx TV model and generic profile does not work well. Folders are sometimes read sometimes not. movies sometimes can be watched sometimes not with msg err "Network error or problem" (i have those msg on my locale so i idk the original eng msg). subtitles sometimes are on sometimes are off. audio sometimes can be set sometimes not. so i think that my MU is M series TV but there is no profile for it in latest v1.9. so i choose J series. now almost all problems written are gone. almost. still have some problems such as no mkv file in folder (empty folder) even after forced refresh. this is for now only problem (i couldn't test it more because my dear wife is watching some soap crap every evening... :) )

thanks

Re: M series?

Remember that MKV is simply a container, and it's important to know what codecs it contains. My JU7100 refuses to play any file that requires transcoding, and Zip feels it's something that Samsung has done in their software. Overall I'm not impressed either with Tizen or the way Samsung supports DLNA. It's rather half-hearted support at best.

So, for a video that doesn't appear, we need to know the video and audio information. There's a link in my signature that can help you to get that information.

Re: M series?

thanks for answer. but the codec is not the problem. i am 99% sure of that simply because when generic profile is set i have that mkv files in folder, but with J series i don't have those files in folder. i am not talking about playing movies but rather showing them in folder. i will check that codec stuff and all other...stuff :D and here is some display specs for 6170 model (i doubt that a lot changed in 6172)

half-hearted support at best -> they need to have some new stuff in new series of TVs ;D

Re: M series?

Well, the specs certain cover almost everything. The question is did they change their DLNA functionality? I see it uses Tizen 3.0 while I'm pretty sure my JU is still using 2.0. That might account for the files showing when using the generic profile but not the Samsung J profile. Your TV probably needs a new profile, but someone with access to one will need to post the DLNA functionality. There's some Intel software that you can use to gather than info, but it's beyond my ability to describe it to you. I can use it, but can't describe it.

Yep, that's it. BTW, you don't need to put a page link in the code brackets. If you just paste it into the message it will remain a clickable link. ;)

Re: M series?

Zip might spot your post here, but you might send him a PM with the attachment to make sure. He can then look at it and see if there's something that differs from the existing Samsung profiles and create a new profile for it. He also maintains a place on Bitbucket for providing stuff like this, but I don't have access to the URL on this computer to provide it to you.

Here's the link to the Serviio bitbucket site: https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/issues/. This is the best and fastest way to get your request to Zip.

Re: M series?

Is there already a solution for this one? I have the same behaviour at Home with a Samsung UE55MU8009: "Please check your connection" after a few minutes of viewing. Before this I was using a Samsung UE48H at exact the same position in my living room without any problem using same network connection, same NAS, basically everything the same; even the wire...

Re: M series?

I have the M series myself, and the J profile work well.. The only thing that doesn't work is transcoding. I'm not sure how to fix it and I did try a lot of things.
