serviio x265 samsung no timebar can't move back/ahead

Hi everyone,
I have an updated serviio 1.9.1 running with 2 samsung TVs: UN40F6300 & PN51D6500. Serviio automatically picked the right profile and serviio appears properly on each TV.

My problem;
I have issues with the recent x265 files available online. Though the file loads (using serviio on samsung tvs) and I can watch episodes from the start, I no longer have access to the timebar option, and I can no longer move back/ahead within an episode.

This has always worked fine before with x24 files.
What can I do for it to work again with x265 files?

Thanks,
placroix

That's because they need to be transcoded, in which case you lose this functionality on most TVs.

Hi zip - thanks for the reply.
I'm not sure I understand... Are you saying there is no fix possible? That seems to be quite unlikely as both TVs are fairly recent (3-4 years) and serviio seems to be the best streamer out-there. There must be a fix? I can't imagine being the only one person in this situation.

You mentioned they need to be transcoded? I have that options specifically checked in Serviio's parameters (see pic attached). Isn't "transcoding" exactly what serviio is supposed to do? Or perhaps serviio 1.9.1 still needs to to be updated to support such transcoding?

In the meantime, I run HDMI cable from computer to TV and bypass Serviio all together - not ideal.

Thanks,
You can probably tell that I'm not an expert at all this. I appreciate any guidance that could be provided.

placroix: I don't believe either of your TVs support H.265 video. That's why they need to be transcoded. And transcoded files cannot be fast forwarded or rewound with almost any player. With my Samsung TV (JU7100) it won't even play transcoded files. And it's a Samsung issue, not Serviio. So if your TV will not play H.265 (and I doubt either do), there is no workaround and no fix. And Samsung is not going to add support for H.265 to a non-4K TV.
