iTunes and metadata

I've just downloaded and installed Serviio. Looking good. The problem I have is that my movies and TV shows are maintained in iTunes, which also holds the metadata. AFAIK, Serviio works on a file basis, and so doesn't pick up the metadata. So, for example, Serviio wouldn't realise that a video was episode 2 of Season 21 of Silent Witness.

Any workaround?

Regards,
David

Re: iTunes and metadata

First, you won't be able to stream iTunes video via Serviio because of DRM. Music is no problem, because Apple dropped DRM from their music files years ago.

Serviio retrieves metadata via several methods. http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=12 explains it better than I can here.
