Playing MKV on Samsung C

Hi,

I have been using serviio for a while and it used to play mkv without problem. I can still play some of the mkv in smaller size, but for some reason, I can't no longer play the large size mkv (4GB above). Whenever I tried to play it, it will say that file format is not supported and immediately, the serviio server will be disconnected from my tv. it will take a while before it connects again, which is strange.

anyone has experienced the same problem before?

thanks.

If they are transcoded, make sure you have enough space in the transcoding temp folder

This file should play natively with the C profile, so no transcoding is going on. Not sure why it's not working - did this file play before?

Have you changed anything else on the computer? Did you change the location of serviio? What are the file systems on the drives involved.

Fat32 max file size 4 GB
NTFS up to 16 Exabyte which is 1 million terabytes

If you are using Fat32 maybe something is increasing the file size enough to hit the 4GB limit?

Hi, sometimes (for me) such things occur because of the router. I would try restarting the router. Also if Your TV is connected to the router wirelessly the signal may be too weak.

From my experience DLNA is very sensitive to the quality of the signal (and the router).

Good luck.

I noticed that my Samsung C-series c5900 BD player will not play any mkv with chapter information.
Try to remove those, ie extract the video and audio tracks and remerge those in a new mkv file.
