serviio can't connect to samsung pn51e550

hi all, i just bought a samsung pn51e550 (brand new on the market) and there seems to be some sort of connection issue happening, as it's not being recognized by serviio, and as expected nothing appears on the tv's end either under the dlna/allshare page.

i've tried just about everything mentioned in these forums. tried both wireless and wired connections, tried dynamically assigned and statically assigned ip addresses, turned off firewalls/antivirus (including he firewall on my router), you name it. i verified that upnp is turned on on the router. i even tried turning on "printer and file sharing for microsoft networks". i'm currently running winxp sp3, and my router is a linksys wrt54gl. i'm able to ping my tv's ip address each time. oh, i also tried the bound ip address for the server machine to no avail.

is there some kind of windows service i need to have running to make this type of connection work? or do you think this has something to do with the television? i tried samsung allshare as well and that didn't detect my tv either. since this tv is brand new, it's kind of frustrating that there is a huge showstopper right off the bat.

i should note that internet streaming currently works on the tv.

any ideas?

thanks in advance.

Re: serviio can't connect to samsung pn51e550

to update, i tried a few more things just to rule things out.

-i updated the firmware on my linksys wrt54gl to tomato 1.28, nothing changed.
-i connected both my tv and my laptop running serviio to another unprotected router and updated serviio's ip settings accordingly. this didn't do anything, but i did notice that someone ELSE'S dlna share appeared on my tv. this leads me to believe the issue isn't with the tv, thank gosh.

now the issue is either with my laptop running serviio, or with my router. which is the more likely scenario? as mentioned, i've tried just about everything mentioned in the forums and sticky's. i don't have access to another computer to try out serviio on that machine unfortunately, and i don't want to spend money on a new router if that's not absolutely 100% the issue.

anyone have any insight?? are there known issues with either linksys wrt54gl routers or with lenovo x60 laptops with winxp sp3 and fully up to date with security patches?
