mp4 not playable on ps4

I haven't used my ps4 in a while but now when I started it up and tried to play some videos I noticed that plenty of mp4's were unplayable.

Below is an example of an mp4-file it doesn't like. Any idea?
I use Serviio 1.9 and currently have an unmodified ps4-profile.

Re: mp4 not playable on ps4

Hmmm, I just now noticed that those videos were 4k. When I downloaded 1080p-versions of the same videos (from YouTube) the PS4 plays them fine.
What confused me was that I thought the PS4 had played those files before, but I guess I remember wrong. It's not really surprising the PS4 (non-Pro) doesn't handle 4k-videos.

On another note...
Is there anyone here reading this that has both an Xbox One & PS4?
I think the PS4 is a huge step down compared to the PS3 when it comes to multimedia playback, and also got very disappointed that the PS4 Pro can't play UHD-discs. I haven't had an Xbox in a while, but am considering going back (to Xbox). Does it handle local multimedia content better? Is it maybe even comparable or better than the PS3 is/was?

Re: mp4 not playable on ps4

I have a regular PS4 and an Xbox One S. The PS4 is better in some areas (HDMI-CEC so you use the TV remote, and it has inline SRT subtitle support), but the Xbox One S plays H.265 natively which is ideal for modern TV show content.
