Sony KDL32EX403 Cannot play avi files

Please forgive my lack of knowledge this is all new to me.
Have just bought the Sony Bravia TV KDL32EX403 and trying to get to grips with DNLA.
I am trying to play a video file which is in avi format.
I can see the file on my TV and has a thumb nail picture, but when I try to play the file I get an error "The server is Temporarily unavailable" I can play mpeg2video with no problems.

I have seleted the sony bravia tv profile in serviio console.
Do you require any more info ?
can anybody help in what I am doing wrong ?

If you turn on detailed logging (see my signature for link) you should be able to see the FFmpeg command that is used for the transcode. Try executing the command manually in a terminal window and post the (error) result here.
