About subtitles problem on KDL-40W605B and way to fix it
First of all I want excuse my poor English skills, its not my native language but I think subject can interest English user as well as Russian( and maybe other users that have Cyrillic symbols in subs).
First things first, about the problem.
I don't know is this specific for my model of TV, but it looks like all text in subtitles without property even in .srt files (which as far as I know can poorly be visually modified) display in very small handwriting like font as I show on photo down below. Sorry for bad quality.
Its not end of the world and text still readable otherwise if you have problems with vision. But in Russian subtitles things get worst. TV or maybe Serviio can not understand which character which attribute has and what we get.
And now few words how I fix this problem for myself. This works for .ass and .srt subtitles too. I noticed that some lines in file normally displayed and after a bit of research I understood that lines which displayed normally have tags it can be every tag( position, size or text attribute like bold\italic). So I what you need is add tags to every line in file. I used for this this program http://www.nikse.dk/SubtitleEdit all you need is cntrl+a then right click and set italic
And you will get perfectly readable subs with normal size. What found strange there is no italic property on screen Its only change font and size, maybe default handwriting-like font haven't italic set of characters. But it works.
