Jerky sound on SONY BRAVIA 2009 series (KDL-40W5500)

I'm not sure is this issue of the TV or ffmpeg, but it may help somebody.

Since v0.5 I've been noticing that the sound for most avi files I have is quite jerky, I mean sounds like being played through old-fashioned noise reduction system based on pumping down the amplification in silent places to decrease the noise and pumping it back up when the music starts. Only this one was broken, and had being restoring the volume very slowly.
Today at last I found some time to find out the reason. In fact the v0.4 works just file, and the only difference is the new keyword in the profile which sets the bitrate, namely "aBitrate=384" while transcoding the avi to mpegts. Surprisingly, when I removed it everything became just fine. The same effect was when I created personal transcoding profile where the audio codec was left intact.

As a bottom line, it not so unequivocally with this forced bitrate... But I don't know on which side.

Well, in fact abitrate sometime is necessary (this is why this option was added in 0.4.2 or 0.5 version) and sometime not (your example).
I also know that zip had made change on abirate processing to a valid value (64k,128k,192k,etc), so abitrate option could probably be removed, to be confirmed.
Could you post ffmpeg -i result of your avi file?

Sure, in fact it was just another file with mp3 sound, however most noticeable it was with the one below, having, surprise, mono sound:
  Code:
FFmpeg version 0.6.1, Copyright (c) 2000-2010 the FFmpeg developers

    Stream #0.2: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 192 kb/s
At least one output file must be specified

Btw, do I understand correctly that now when audio track change is not possible the first track is selected by default?
