cant see serviio on my sony tv

after reinstalling win 10 and update bios( not sure which of them made the change) cant find serviio on tv.
before that it worked.

when make servers diagnostic on tv settings the tv detecting serviio server " connection status successful", but cannot open it to play.
start and shut down the tv effect status on serviio server.
openning the media player of the tv does not show anything.

Most likely the Windows firewall is blocking Serviio access. You need port 1900 UDP open, as well as 23423 for access to the console. Of course, the console access is only needed to reach the console from a computer other than the computer with Serviio installed.

thanks, you were right, it was the firewall.
strange thing is that i disabled it just for testing and got serviio on my tv.
enabled fire wall, without adding those ports permission still had serviio on tv.
but i set the recommended ports any way.
now i have another issue.
cant get external subs that added to the video.
in my previous usage with serviio it worked well.
although i set on the server my preferred subs language ( hebrew) when i try to choose subs on the tv while playing the movie, i got only "English" , or "none" options.
the subs works well when i am playing it with vlc on my pc.
or when connecting an storage directly to the tv.
on tv settings that language is set.
playing movie on tv with other app subs works fine.

I don't use external sub files, so not a lot of help there. The few SRT files I tested in the past were fine, but I can't say I've tried any with the latest version of Serviio. Mainly because my Shield players support all the embedded sub tracks I've never messed with external files.

the strange thing is that on my former use it worked fine.
for sure on my previous Samsung tv, and i am pretty sure also on the Sony, before reinstalling the whole pc .

fixed it.
just web to subtitles section in serviio server "delivery" section, and checked all settings that are about subs.
now it works.

I'm not a specialist, but there could be some issues with your firewall. My boyfriend had a similar problem some months ago. In his case, the Windows firewall was blocking Serviio access. However, to be more sure, you can check some guides online. Luckily, there are some checklists on sites like multitechverse.com. Btw, I'm grateful for such websites. There are a lot of solved issues. I've used it to install security cameras around my house without a service package. Please update when your problem is solved.
