You are getting and error when you try and start serviio? Or are you having a hard time saving the file after you change it?

Can you attach your profiles.xml file?

Re: Problems with MKV / H.264 on Sony BDP-S370 Bluray-Player

Wicked,

your log says "XML Profiles.xsd didn't pass validation [...] Invalid content was found starting with element 'X-AV-Client-Info'. One of '{UPnPSearch, HttpHeaders}' is expected.". The latest profiles.xml coming with Serviio does contain a pretty complex profile for Sony Bluray players, so there should be no need to go back to the profile you quoted, which is over a year old. The profile has been refined a lot since then, and from my view as an end user (i.e. not knowing for sure) there's a good chance that the xml's format has changed as well.

IF you decide to use the old profile - or parts of it - for any reason, I'd keep the latest profiles' first sections and start editing after <MediaFormatProfiles>.

Have a nice one,
Low

ok, thanks.

Is there a way to play MKV in S370 without transcoding? Or at least mkv with the original soundtrack of DTS 1.5 MB?

Re: Problems with MKV / H.264 on Sony BDP-S370 Bluray-Player

Hi,
I have problem with playing mkv and subtitles after update serviio to 0.6.0.1 and mkvmerge to 5.0.1. Before update everything were ok - srt muxed into mkv. I checked film in "The KMPlayer" and it's OK - subtitles are there. Problem are on my Sony BDP-S370 - film is playing ok but there are no subtitles. Any suggestions?

I guess that's because MKV is remuxed to mpegts. Check the player FAQ page (sticky in this forum)

I forget that new installation will replace profile.xml - thanks.

Now I have another problem.. subtitles are "half" working - I think there is a problem with display time of each text - player skips some of the texts. I have checked srt file before muxing and in my opinion is fine.

Could you post the "srt" file?

Re: Problems with MKV / H.264 on Sony BDP-S370 Bluray-Player

Hey guys,

i´ve got a little problem with switching the autio-stream while watching the movie. I also can´t choose a subtitle.

My MKV-FIles have serveral auio-streams and several subtitels. When i play a bluray i can change audio and subtitle with my remote. When i stream a file over serviio i can´t.
So i´m really new to this and i only found, that i could make some changes to the profiles.xml. I did this to get subtitles but it doens´work. Could somebody give me a hint or help me with my problem please?

Thanks
Nilson

Re: Problems with MKV / H.264 on Sony BDP-S370 Bluray-Player

Guys,

Not sure if this is already known, but I just got my S470 to play a .mkv x264 with embedded subs (originally a .srt file that I included in the .mkv using mkvtoolnix), showing the subs. The detail here is I used PMS to do that. When I tried to do the same using Serviio, no success.

I had tried to mux the same .srt in the same .mkv before, but the player didn't show the subs in any media server (don't ask me why). Then I did the following: 1) set to 'yes' the 'Default track flag' and 'Forced track flag' in the srt track; and 2) selected 'none' to 'Compression' under the 'Extra Options' tab for ALL the tracks.

BINGO!! The BDP played the file and showed the subs. But only from PMS, not from Serviio. Furthermore, the same result was observed in my Samsung D6900 TV and PS3, which makes me think Serviio didn't make it happen.

Just to add more info, I didn't make any change in profiles or configurations in either PMS or Serviio.

Hope this post helps improving this great MS.

Thanks for that tips.
Could you check and confirm that PMS delivered the mkv file in native format? Same with serviio (check detailed loggig file) ?

Yes, it's fairly likely that Serviio is remuxing to m2ts. What happens if you put that same file on a USB stick and play directly on the BDP?

Sorry, guys,

I had forgotten about a tiny little detail. Once I downloaded this Sony Bluray .conf file from a PMS forum and included it to the profiles folder.

I think that by looking at it you'll be able to figure out more.
