Sony NAS C5E Wireless Music Player Error

Folks
I have been working on setting up Serviio now for a couple of days and at the moment I have it working great on my new Samsung TV. Unfortunately I now have a problem with my Sony NAS C5E Wireless Music Player. The Sony sees Serviio AND will play the music BUT what now happens is it will play one track & not move onto the next track I just get a message saying a communication error has occurred. Mediatomb worked a treat but really want to try & get Serviio working instead..

Really appreciate any help if anyone is willing to try !
Thanks to you all, so far looking like a great piece of Software..

Re: Sony NAS C5E Wireless Music Player Error

- Could you provide information about format supported by this device : http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=device_sf, then the device description xml result ?

- Could you enable detailed logging (see signature link) and try to reproduce your issue, then post log here ?

Hi
Can you tell me if there is not GetProtocolInfo function available what would you suggest ? I have played around with the Device Spy tool but don't seem to have got any useful info from it. I have provided a Device Spy screenshot of the available info from the problem device..

Thanks for this help !!

OK, no problem for GetProtocolInfo sink result, some devices (Bluray player) does not provide this information but work well with serviio.
Could you provide the "Device Description xml" page ? (DeviceSpy: right click on device)

Then, now could you enable detailed logging and post here ? (see signature link)

Re: Sony NAS C5E Wireless Music Player Error

Thanks.

I try to understand, what is Sony NAS system.
I see two devices with two different IP address, could you explain? (please rigth click on device icon under DeviceSpy tool, and provide DeviceDescription XML info, you previously provide service xml information of SonyK device )
192.168.1.17 => SonyLiving
192.168.1.18 => SonyK
  Code:
[DeviceDescriptionRequestHandler] DeviceDescription request received for device 7f81fd68-22d3-3a7b-98d8-d8e2021be187 from 192.168.1.17 (headers = [CONTENT-LENGTH: 0,CONNECTION: close,HOST: 192.168.1.30:8895,USER-AGENT: UPnP/1.0 DLNADOC/1.00,X-AV-Client-Info: av=5.0; cn="Sony Corporation"; mn="NAS-C5E"; mv="0.000a",X-AV-Physical-Unit-Info: pa="SonyLiving";])

The MP3 file seems to be delivered in native format in two chunk parts, the log is normal, is there something else after that on log file ?

Re: Sony NAS C5E Wireless Music Player Error

Hi Illico
"I see two devices with two different IP address, could you explain? (please rigth click on device icon under DeviceSpy tool, and provide DeviceDescription XML info, you previously provide service xml information of SonyK device )
192.168.1.17 => SonyLiving
192.168.1.18 => SonyK"

OK, I have two of these SOny Wireless Music ~Players. One on IP 1.17 and the other on 1.18 (This is the one I am using to try & debug this problem). The IP of 1.30 that you will see in the logs is the IP of the file server that has Serviio & WebUI installed..

Hope this helps

Illico, do not know if this is of any use but I provide a second debug log for you. This time I let the log run for a couple of minutes AFTER the communication error occured . The time stamp at the time of the error was 2012-06-20 08:40:29,169 hope this can be of some assistance.. Thank you once again for your time..

PS.. Just another edit, FWIW when I setup Mediatomb a couple of years ago I remember a similar problem, I solved the problem at that time by editing/updating/including all Metadata with the audio files.. Don't know if this will help at all but thought I'd mention it..

Re: Sony NAS C5E Wireless Music Player Error

OK thanks,

Same result in the second log, seems good.

Does this works with other servers : Windows Media player, MediaTomb, etc?

Do you try to browse and play from "Audio / folders" folder, not "artist" or others?

No more ideas for the moment, sorry.

I could'nt see anything in the logs either, really bizarre..
Yes m8 works perfect with MediaTomb, never tried with Windoz though.. And yes I mannually select Serviio >> Audio >> Folders >>then I click ok to select the first track. Always plays perfect all the way through, its only when the track finishes it does not automatically move onto the next track. If I select omn the remote control the next track it moves to it no problem and once again plays just fine....
Thanks Anyway..

So, that could be the end of current track that not finished properly.
I can see on the log, that the partial content, not fill to the end, one byte is missed.

2012-06-19 18:51:11,492 DEBUG [ResourceTransportRequestHandler] HTTP/1.1 206 Partial Content, headers = [[Content-Type: audio/mpeg,Content-Range: bytes 102244-183515/183516,Content-Length: 81272,Date: Tue, 19 Jun 2012 17:51:11 GMT,Server: Linux, UPnP/1.0 DLNADOC/1.50, Serviio/0.6.2,Cache-control: no-cache,transferMode.dlna.org: Streaming]]

Re: Sony NAS C5E Wireless Music Player Error

the byte range is correct, it starts with index 0. Not sure what would be the problem, as it's played natively.

Try to compare MediaTomb and Serviio communication with some advanced tool (Wireshark). Sorry don't have more ideas.
