LG LA6208 series TV's

Hi all,

I've made a quick profile for people using the LA6208-series TV's. It supports most formats out-of-the-box with the latest firmware. However, no support for ogg or flac. Here's a quick profile I made which inherits the generic profile settings; and adds transcoding for flac/ogg to LPCM 44.1kHz (less loss). The conversion to LPCM 44.1kHz is needed for high-res FLAC (think 24-bit / 96kHz stuff ;) )
  Code:
   <Profile id="LGla62" name="LG LA62-series" extendsProfileId="1">
   <Detection>
      <UPnPSearch>
              <FriendlyName>.*LA62.*</FriendlyName>
      </UPnPSearch>
   </Detection>
   <MediaFormatProfiles>
      <MediaFormatProfile mime-type="video/mp4" name="">AVI</MediaFormatProfile>
   </MediaFormatProfiles>
   <Transcoding>
   <Audio targetContainer="lpcm" aSamplerate="44100">
            <Matches container="flac" />
            <Matches container="ogg" />
   </Audio>
   </Transcoding>
   <HardSubsTranscoding>
     <Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3" />
   </HardSubsTranscoding>
   <Subtitles>
      <SoftSubs mime-type="text/srt" />
   </Subtitles>
   </Profile>

I've also posted an output from UPNP device spy to the Wiki-page if anyone's interested. If you have any suggestions - let me know and I'll add them to the profile.

Hi,

Could you post the result of this action: http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=device_sf

That way, I know what to change in the profile. Flac will not play natively, but can be transcoded lossless, which in the end, is the same thing ;)

Re: LG LA6208 series TV's

Profile seems to work nicely, thank you!

I do have a problem with FLAC transcoding on my LA6208. It does work but it randomly stops playing. Could be in the first song, could be the sixth, usually not more. Repeating the same album stops at another location. All other streaming on the tv fine sofar, it's just the FLAC transcoding.
I tried this same profile on a Marantz NA7004 and an Onkyo tx-8050 (both audio streamers), they seem to work fine.

My connection is wired, the server is running myth-buntu and isn't even breaking a sweat (cpu usage in 'top' maybe 0.1).
There is a netgear switch in between for the LG. Both the audio streamers have the netgear PLUS another switch in between them and the server.

I'm at a bit of a loss here to be honest. Anybody with the same tv have the same behaviour? Any ideas on how to hunt this problem down or work around it?

Thanks,
Frank

PS
I have been a longterm user of twonkymedia. I tried Serviio just because of this profile (twonky is a bit daft with transcoding) and it works very well. Even 'Top Gear' from the BBC HD satellite channel (recorded on myth-tv) now streams nicely via wifi-n on my Samsung SGS3 phone. That's a first for me! Video on the phone used to be terrible, especially these high bitrates (>10Mbit/s). Using BubbleUpnp client and 'dice-' or 'BS -'player it plays nicely, just a bit of pixelation every now and then.
