LE8800 series (47") - TV reboot !

Hi!

I'm using the latest version of serviio and I'm experimenting an issue. Let me to explain.
No problem at all with all my shared files.. all streamed succesfully (including 1080p dolby ac3 movies).

But when I try to open a specific online stream from the TV, instead a file.. bum! Tv reboot with no error messages.
I'm trying to watch on my TV a SopCast streams: the SopCast tool open a server on the local machine (over port http://127.0.0.1:8902/tv.ts or http://127.0.0.1:8902/tv.asf) and the content can be opened with a player like VLC or WMP.
Playing it with VLC also works if I try to open the SopCast stream from a device (like a smartphone) trough serviio, like expected.

If I try to open the same stream trough serviio from my LE8800 TV.. crash. The tv reboot.
This happen with Generic DLNA profile, Samsung B profile, LG profile, LG smartTV profile (from that forum). No way.

I installed an app (skifta, DLNA app similar to serviio) on my Android smartphone and.. If I add the online stream from serviio (connected to SopCast Server) into that app and open the same stream from my LE8800 (trough skifta).. It works!
So I think there's something wrong in the way serviio stream that content.

Sorry, my english is so poor :oops: .. if you can't understand, I'll try again :D

can you post detailed logs from your serviio instance?

Also have you checked to see if your TV has any firmware updates?

Can you post ffmpeg -i for the stream URL? It sends the stream to your TV natively, maybe we can make it remux it to mpegts to 'fix' the container

Re: LE8800 series (47") - TV reboot !

Hi!
SopCast create a local server that open 8902 port (default) and "expose" 2 url : http://127.0.0.1:8902/tv.ts (the default server page) and http://127.0.0.1:8902/tv.asf

Attached there's the result of ffmpg -i on the above urls
(SopCast client use a VLC Stream Server v0.81)

I also attached what VLC Player report opening the local server url (that play perfectly on the local machine with vlc).

Try to add this to the LG profile:

  Code:
 <OnlineTranscoding>
            <Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384">
                <Matches container="mpegts"/>
            </Video>
</OnlineTranscoding>

Re: LE8800 series (47") - TV reboot !

No way.. TV reboot again. (transcoding on the serviio Tab and xml node added to the profile I use)
Also Playstation3 refuse to play the online stream from Sopcast Server. :?:
This happen with any stream on SopCast.. so Seems to be indipendent from codec used, bitrate and so on. :?:
Tomorrow I'll try with my parents TV connected to my network, an UE55ES6100 .. But in the first attemp the tv refuse to play (but no reboot.. damn LG).

Any other things that I can try to help you to understand?

if you could take comfort from that.. also using TVersity as server instead Serviio cause the same result.. Tv reboot with SopCast Stream.

Another reason to avoid LG for anything DLNA.

Return to LG
