serviio.log
video play ends around 1 minute prior to the end

I'm attaching the serviio.log file with DEBUG enabled which was captured during the playing of a file which consistently stops around 1 minute prior to the end of the file when played through Serviio.

Re: some videos skip or end prematurely

It's due to the fact Serviio doesn't deal very well with time to bytes conversion currently, so when the TV asks for seconds 100 - 300 (if 300 is the end of the video), it might not get all the bytes. I've hopfully improved it for 1.1.

Re: some videos skip or end prematurely

OK, thanks for that info, zip. When is the 1.1 version expected to be released?

Also, a similar problem is seen when pausing and then playing videos. When un-paused, some videos restart anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes from the time when they were paused. Is this also expected to be fixed with the 1.1 release?

Thank you!

Re: some videos skip or end prematurely

I have this problem a lot, even since the update. It's always with .mp4 files. I've not yet tried changing the extension to .avi as the above poster suggested - I will try this tonight and see if it fixes the problem, and I will post a detailed log later tonight as I've just downloaded a tv show that nearly always skips the last few minutes. I really hope this can be fixed though - it's frustrating 'cause often it's the climax of the episode that gets cut off!

EDIT: I have tried the above poster's suggestion and (so far) changing the extension from .mp4 to .avi appears to fix the problem. Obviously this is a workaround and not a fix per se... is there any chance someone might be able to figure out why there seems to be this problem with mp4 files?

Re: some videos skip or end prematurely

can you post ffmpeg -i for the file with .mp4 extension and then the same file with .avi extension?

Re: some videos skip or end prematurely

I have the same problem although mostly the .avi becomes out of sync with the audio when playing...

I've tried changing the extension from .mp4 to .avi and it didn't work. I own a ET5, but some .mp4 play with no issues at all...

The log file is here. Sorry, if it's too big, i don't know how to clean it up

These are the ffmpeg from the .avi and the .mp4 (original extension):

Re: some videos skip or end prematurely

I am still having the same problems with my ST50a, programs stop with approx 30-60 seconds before end, and also just stopping part way through , saying please wait and the Cannot Read File.I can work around the Cannot Read file sometimes by going backwards to movie list and waiting a minute or two (if at all) and when thumbnail returns i can then press play again.
It has got that bad my wife wont use Serviio much now and has reverted to using USB sticks.
I have had Panasonic out and they have replaced the main motherboard in the TV, which made no difference.
The updates to Serviio have also made no difference.

Re: some videos skip or end prematurely

Hi

Any news on this problem being fixed, or a workaround ? I have the same problem with mp4s cutting off before the end. Some work when renamed to avi, but many are the same. I'm using Serviio 1.2.1 on a Sony bdp490.
Perhaps there is a solution elsewhere on the forum that I've not found.
Thanks in advance.
