Help creating a profile for Panasonic BD player DMP-BD85

Hi,

Need help creating a profile for Panasonic BD player DMP-BD85 with hacked firmware so I can play .mkv files

The only profile that works is the DirectTV HD-DVR one with the .mkv files but the image is too streched verticaly and
it cannot play Divx or AVI files and that's with transcoding enabled

It plays .mkv and DIvx files fine on burned CD's

Thanks

Device Spy does not show my bluray player in the list even if I am in my dlna menu in my bluray player

Re: Help creating a profile for Panasonic BD player DMP-BD85

Looks like it cannot play mkv natively (via DLNA). DirecTV profile transcodes it into mpeg2.

Re: Help creating a profile for Panasonic BD player DMP-BD85

Yeah and when I play the .mkv the image is too wide vertically and sometimes stutters and even stop playing after a while and that's not because of my PC I
have a core 2 duo e6600 with 4 gb ram and win 7 x64

Is there a way to transcode it better ?

Also I cannot pause or fast forward

Re: Help creating a profile for Panasonic BD player DMP-BD85

you can try enabling detailed log, look for the ffmpeg command it uses for the transcode, execute it manually and see what output file you get. Then we can try changing the parameters of the command to produce a better file.

Re: Help creating a profile for Panasonic BD player DMP-BD85

in the above, this for example:

  Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Serviio\bin\\..\lib/ffmpeg.exe -threads 1 -i C:\FILMS\The.Polar.Express.2004.1080p.BluRay.x264-TiMELORDS\tl-polar\tl-polar.mkv -y -vcodec mpeg2video -b 8192k -maxrate 8192k -bufsize 5097k -r 24.39 -g 15 -copyts -acodec copy -ac 2 -sn -f vob C:\Windows\TEMP\Serviio\transcoding-temp-30-MPEG2PS.stf

What do I do with the resulting file ? Serviio will still use the same old command so where do I tell serviio to use another ffmpeg command ?

your not very helpful with your short responses

Re: Help creating a profile for Panasonic BD player DMP-BD85

Use something like this to create c:\file.mpg:

  Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Serviio\bin\\..\lib/ffmpeg.exe -threads 1 -i C:\FILMS\The.Polar.Express.2004.1080p.BluRay.x264-TiMELORDS\tl-polar\tl-polar.mkv -y -vcodec mpeg2video -b 8192k -maxrate 8192k -bufsize 5097k -r 24.39 -g 15 -copyts -acodec copy -ac 2 -sn -f vob C:\file.mpg

We cannot tell Serviio to change the ffmpeg command now, but we could work out what needs to be done for a next version.

your not very helpful with your short responses

sorry mate, I'm on my holidays and I'm stealing time I'd rather spend somewhere else than on the forum.. also the connection here is crap so it takes me 2 hours to go through all the new posts

You are being seriously rude spectre73.

Zip is doing an amazing job with this FREEware developping and supporting users all by himself you could be a little less agressive...

Zip, you should enjoy your vacation, just post "AWAY until xxx " at the top of the forum, and we will help each other as much as we can until you are back :)

Thanks for the great work man!

Yes, or on your PC to check if it has the proper aspect ratio and whatever you need.

can't you just change internet provider ?

I'm on HOLIDAYS, at a mountain cottage, stealing a neighbour's unsecured wi-fi connection, so no

Re: Help creating a profile for Panasonic BD player DMP-BD85

yes and the aspect ratio seems good on the pc so maybe my bd player needs a special command for the aspect ratio and for the pause and play and also it stops playing sometimes

Re: Help creating a profile for Panasonic BD player DMP-BD85

can you now add this file into Serviio's library and play that (without transcoding) to check that the file has wrong aspect ratio?

Re: Help creating a profile for Panasonic BD player DMP-BD85

I tried adding it to the library has FILE.MPG and it was grayed out so I added mpeg in the matches container function and was able
to play it but with same results of wrong aspect ratio

I tried forcing my bd player to display in 4:3 and played the polar express in mkv and the top and bottom
black bars where there buy the aspect ratio was still wrong even if I tried 16:9 and 16:9 full

Also I have to switch my sound settings in the bluray player from bitstream to pcm or there is no sound and some mkv
files stutters alot and still no pause or fast forward or the file just stops and I have to press stop

Thanks
