Q about supported file types

Hello,
I'm new here and I'm running serviio which is a very nice and easy to use program. Many thanks for that.
I would like to know what file types (media files) are supported. Some movies will not play on my panasonic vt20. Is this normal or can I do something about this?

I allready searched this forum but that did not help me any...

Re: Q about supported file types

A lot of types are supperted, it's possible that for your TV the transcoding config is not complete.

Re: Q about supported file types

Are those files that do not play? Can you rename your existing serviio.log ad enable detailed logging (see signature) and post it here, you might have to zip it up.

In the serviio console is "Panasonic" auto selected or have you selected it for the correct IP address?

Re: Q about supported file types

We could not found ffmpeg command used on the log file...
Restart the same process describe by moltra but before post the log, try to play these files:
- rename your existing serviio.log
- start to play files
- and post it here

FILE1: *.mpg : mpeg1video(video), mp2(audio)
FILE2: *.wmv : wmv3(video), wmav2(audio)
FILE3: *.mpeg : mpeg1video(video), mp2(audio)

Do they support these formats over DLNA?

Motion JPEG and Progressive JPEG not supported

Video : MPEG-2 (ts or ps)
AVCHD and DivX not supported over DLNA (but supported over mediaplayer (SD or USB))

Audio : Not supported over DLNA (but MP3 and AAC are supported over mediaplayer (SD or USB))

The feeling sneeks up to me as my head sticks in the bees nest.
This becomes way beyond my skills.

Isn't here a profile ready for use for a VT20 ?

Serviio delivered these files (a.mpg and c.mpeg) in native format without transcoding but your Pana did not support these formats.

Re: Q about supported file types

After you selected Panasonic as the render profile. Did you restart Serviio? To get serviio to recognize the new profile the program must be restarted.

Re: Q about supported file types

You need to totally restart serviio after editing profiles. I always restart serviio after selecting a different profile.

How are you trying to restart serviio?

You need to stop Serviio not serviio console. Right click on the console icon in the system tray and select serviio not "serviio console"

Can you open up the serviio.log file in the log directory and post it here.

See this post to see more information about the serviio.log and how to restart serviio after editing.

I'm stupid, lots at mistakes in my previous post:

Try this:

<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video">
<Matches container="mpeg" vCodec="mpeg1video" aCodec="mp2" />
</Video>
