Multi-channel audio with Panasonic Viera TC-P46ST30

Hi,

I'm new to Serviio, and to this Panasonic Viera TC-P46ST30 3D TV.

Serviio works fine as far as the video portion of movies goes, but I haven't yet been able to play any files that have multi-channel audio without selecting the "Downmix to Stereo" option on the transcoding page. I'm wondering if this is a limitation of the TV, or if I'm doing something wrong. I've got an optical cable running from the TV to my receiver, so I was hoping to be able to get more than 2 channels through there. I do have the Viera profile selected.

The 2 files I've tried are both MP4/h.264/AAC 6 channel.

I did run Device Spy, and attached is the output. Unfortunately it isn't exactly clear to me what audio formats it will take.

Thanks in advance!

Andy

Thanks for your response.

No error, just no audio at all.

Some more info since yesterday - I tried playing an MKV with 5.1 in AC3 format, and it actually worked fine and also passed the signal through to my receiver. It appears I just need to make sure the format is right, and apparently this TV doesn't like AAC.

Thanks,

Andy
