Cannot find external subs (.srt) on panasonic viera TV

hi i have a panasonic viera tv, and i could not seem to find subs on the options on TV.

i have done :
placed both SRT and MKV files in same folder
renamed them to be exact same spellings

I have tried opening the files on PC with VLC and i am able to select the subs.

please guide me on any informations that u guys need.

Which model TV is it and have you confirmed that it supports external subtitles with MKV files via DLNA. Although a TV may support subtitles, they are typically quite restrictive in respect to which file types are supported.

Try playing the video and subtitle from a USB stick. If it doesn't work it would indicate that it's not support (the converse isn't always true - if it does work it doesn't mean it's necessarily supported over DLNA).

edit: to access subtitles on your Viera, press the options button while the movie is playing.
