Serviio 1.9 does not install properly on Synology?

I have uninstalled previous version of Serviio and tried to install the latest version (1.9) following the guide. The package seems to be running, but I cannot access the console (connection refused error in the browser). I have also noticed that many things do not appear to happen, e.g. I cannot see /volume1/public/serviio/plugins/ and /volume1/public/serviio/fonts/ mentioned in the guide when I SSH to the NAS. Also, Serviio no longer appears on any on my TVs. Firewall does not get updated with the rules for Serviio (two console ports and DLNA ports). I have restarted after the removal and tried to reinstall and it did not help. The install does not seem to update the firewall either (I would expect the Serviio rules), but even if I enable all ports temporarily myself, it does not do the trick. My router is forwarding console ports correctly, nothing changed there. I cannot see the Serviio directory in the web station (/volume1/web/Serviio) either. I do not where to start troubleshooting this. Can someone help me?

Synology model: 2413+
DSM version: DSM 6.1.5-15254
DSM date: 2018/01/26
Serviio version installed: 1.9.0-0033
My WebStation settings: Uses Apache 2.2 and PHP 5.6.
[I could not figure out from the 'before you post' instructions how to get the log file.]

Re: Serviio 1.9 does not install properly on Synology?

More information:

Looks like following files and directories should exist:
    /volume1/@appstore/Serviio/log/serviio.log
    /volume1/@appstore/Serviio/bin/ffmpeg
    /volume1/public/serviio

Neither of the above exists after installation.

Package log (/var/log/upstart/pkgctl-Serviio.log) is clean:

  Code:
2018-02-12T20:46:24+0800 ======== start Serviio ========
2018-02-12T20:59:27+0800 ======== stop Serviio ========
2018-02-12T21:01:40+0800 ======== start Serviio ========
2018-02-13T21:09:56+0800 ======== stop Serviio ========
2018-02-13T21:12:11+0800 ======== start Serviio ========
2018-02-13T21:13:06+0800 ======== stop Serviio ========
2018-02-13T21:55:55+0800 ======== start Serviio ========

Tryint to reinstall and look at /var/log/messages now.

Re: Serviio 1.9 does not install properly on Synology?

Restarted the DiskStation and reinstalled the package. Result is identical with the above, console on the port 23423 gives ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED, package appears to be running in the package centre.

The only log line generated by the installation in /var/log/messages is this:

  Code:
2018-02-16T10:38:56+08:00 store synoscgi_SYNO.Core.Package.Installation_1_install[5401]: resource_api.cpp:163 Acquire service-cfg for Serviio when 0x0001 (done)

Appstore contains the following directories:

  Code:
vlasto@store:~$ sudo ls -al /volume1/\@appstore/Serviio/
Password:
total 20
drwxr-xr-x  5 root root 4096 Feb 16 10:38 .
drwxr-xr-x 25 root root 4096 Feb 16 10:38 ..
drw-r--r--  2 root root 4096 Aug  1  2017 bin
drw-r--r--  3 root root 4096 Aug  1  2017 config
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 Aug  1  2017 ui

Bin directory does not seem to contain ffmpeg:

  Code:
vlasto@store:~$ sudo ls -al /volume1/\@appstore/Serviio/bin
total 16
drw-r--r-- 2 root root 4096 Aug  1  2017 .
drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 4096 Feb 16 10:38 ..
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1468 Aug  1  2017 ffmpeg-wrapper-armv5tel.sh.old
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3785 Aug  1  2017 ffmpeg-wrapper-i686evansport.sh

SC file non-existent in the /usr/local/etc/services.d:

  Code:
vlasto@store:~$ ll /usr/local/etc/services.d/
total 40
drwxrwxrwx  2 root root 4096 Feb 13 21:47 .
drwxr-xr-x 17 root root 4096 Feb 12 13:47 ..
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root   77 Aug 30  2016 DNSServer.sc
-rw-r--r--  1 root root  703 Nov  4 14:05 DownloadStation.sc
-rw-r--r--  1 root root  209 Mar 28  2016 HyperBackupVault.sc
-rw-r--r--  1 root root  178 Oct 29  2015 iTunesServer.sc
-rw-r--r--  1 root root   83 Nov  4 16:08 MariaDB10.sc
-rw-r--r--  1 root root  394 Nov 27  2015 MediaServer.sc
-rw-r--r--  1 root root  262 Mar  4  2016 VideoStation.sc
-rw-r--r--  1 root root  202 Apr 15  2017 WebDAVServer.sc

I really do not know where to start troubleshooting it. Any ideas? Anyone?

Re: Serviio 1.9 does not install properly on Synology?

One more thing: Copying the old sc file or disabling firewall does not fix the problem.

Return to NAS installation
