Hello from Darmstadt Germany.
Thanks´ to Patters for his guide to install Serviio on my Synology NAS, I finaly get Serviio running.
I used it together with my LG BD 390 over WLAN. I have switch to Gbit cable to get HD streams running, SD are fine over WLAN.
Here now my problem, I can´t switch to "Keep original" at the transcoding tab.
After I click save, it jumped back to "Downmix to stereo".
All other setting can be saved.
Here are the output from ffmpeg:
~$ ffmpeg
FFmpeg version UNKNOWN, Copyright (c) 2000-2011 the FFmpeg developers
built on Mar 15 2011 23:08:50 with gcc 4.2.3
configuration: --arch=arm --enable-armv5te --prefix=/opt --extra-cflags=-I/opt/include --extra-ldflags=-L/opt/lib --enable-static --disable-shared --disable-ffplay --disable-ffserver --enable-libmp3lame
libavutil 50.36. 0 / 50.36. 0
libavcore 0.16. 0 / 0.16. 0
libavcodec 52.108. 0 / 52.108. 0
libavformat 52.92. 0 / 52.92. 0
libavdevice 52. 2. 3 / 52. 2. 3
libavfilter 1.72. 0 / 1.72. 0
libswscale 0.12. 0 / 0.12. 0
Hyper fast Audio and Video encoder
usage: ffmpeg [options] [[infile options] -i infile]... {[outfile options] outfile}...
Use -h to get full help or, even better, run 'man ffmpeg'
Any idea?
Thanks boko

Since it´s a headless NAS, I´m using the AcidumIrae’s PHP web UI for Serviio.

Then you should ask him on the appropriate topic. Btw you can use the console in remote mode (see FAQ) with your headless server.

Is it really i didnt now that
so clearly you missed the part of that forum that say THIRD PARTY meaning it not made by serviio dev so asking for support wont get you very far unless u ask in the same section as that THIRD PARTY ui.

OK, finaly it´s working now with the console in remote mode.
I installed serviio console on my WIN 7 and added this to "ServiioConsole.exe.vmoptions":
-Dserviio.remoteHost=192.168.2.74
The same I had to add on the NAS in "serviio.sh" at the end off JAVA_OPTS.
Sorry for asking silly questions, but I just had a bit SUN-Solaris knowledge 20 years ago.
Best regards,
boko

I'm seroiusly having troubles with my installation too...Kept me up half the night and still not working!
But what did I expect! I'm totally newbie and It took me one hour to just figure out how to login through Shell terminal
Well, tonight I'll give it another try.. then I'll start shooting out questions
BTW: is there some way to restart/rewind installation of ipkg/FFmpeg.. It all got messed up somewhere in the middle.. maybe I skipped/missed a couple of steps
Or do I even need to "uninstall" ?

Hi,
to uninstall everything, you may do this:
cd /
umount /opt
rm -R /volume1/opt
rm -R /opt
reboot
rm -rf /volume1/@optware
rm -rf /usr/lib/ipkg
During my learning phase, I had to do it several times with no problems.
Best, boko
