Library Indexing Issue

Had issues getting the library index to update under a previous version, even with a force refresh, so I upgraded - and am having issues.

Synology DS214se
DSM 6.0-7321 Update 6
Java Embedded 8 v 1.8.0_91-0039
Serviio Pro v1.6.1-0030

It gets through 11 files and then indexing stops (11 in 2-3 minutes, then nothing for hours). I have already disabled the "generate thumbnails" option.
Generate thumbnails for local videos [OFF]
Look for a local DVD cover image or poster (e.g. dvdcover.jpg, movie.jpg, etc.) [OFF]

I tried re-installing on a different volume on the NAS, no joy, still gets to 11 files and stops.

Also, when trying to access MediaBrowser through the console, I get "Unkown server error (500, undefined).

Here is some log info:
AuthenticationException occurred. Returning error code 401 to REST layer. Message: cannot log in with an empty password.
FileNotFoundException occurred. Returning error code 404 to the REST layer. Message: null
RuntimeException occurred. Returning error code 500 to the REST layer. Message: java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: Algorithm HmacSHA1 not available

Just found another thread describing similar issue, and they had success using Synology Java 8, trying that now.
