Qnap 4.2.1 2016/6/01 firmware has broken Serviio ?

Hi,

Can anybody else confirm that Serviio - although it appears to be working fine from the NAS and the web console - is no longer accessible by any devices after you have upgraded the firmware of your QNap to the latest version of 4.2.1 ?

My TS563 (x86) unit is totally invisible to the rest of the network immediately after the update. Stopping and restarting through the web console makes no difference and neither does stopping and starting through the QNap App Center.
After further testing my TS531p (ARM) appears to be fine though...

Cheers...

A little more investigation...

I removed both Serviio & JRE and restarted the NAS.

Then reinstalled Seviio and allowed it to sort JRE on it's own.

Still no different - except - that the list of client devices (which I expected to be empty) has a single device in it - an ESXi server's iSCSI port.
The NAS has adapter 1 bound to all services except iSCSI, and adapter2 bound just to iSCSI.

yet unfortunately Serviio has decided to use just adapter two for some reason.

In the adapter binding setting though it's displayed like this :-

Automatically select
10.0.1.11 (eth1)
192.168.0.248 (br0)

So presumably the firmware upgrade has changed the ordering or labelling, can't imagine why though.

But - hard setting it to the correct LAN address has now rectified the problem. Maybe this'll help if anybody else runs into the issue!

I can confirm that updating the QNAP firmware to 4.2.1 2016/6/01, does not break Serviio.

Everything works as it should.
