Synology NAS and DSM 6.0.2-8451 Update 2

Afternoon all,

I recently bought a new Synology NAS to replace an aging server, thinking it would be better for the environment. Plugged the NAS in, added all the drives and folders from any other external sources, followed all the instructions on the forums and the Serviio site to get 1.6.1 working on my NAS. Low and behold, all working brilliantly (although CPU usage could be less) but the problems started when i tried to add folders for Serviio to scan through. It would add them no problem, but it wouldn't index them, it also, sometimes, wouldn't save any of the settings.
I have now managed to resolve this by unistalling the version of Java that is supplied in the instructions, and installing Java provided by Synology, my NAS is now scanning through all the folders and indexing everything.
It took me a long time to find this answer, and im sure there are others out there that are having the same problem.
Hope this helps

Cheers
