Problems with serviio on Synology DS211j
I wanted to install serviio on my DS211j according to the explanations @ http://pcloadletter.co.uk/2011/02/07/se ... h-arm-cpu/ (first of all, thanks for the great work there).
The DS211j got DSM3.1 installed (got the NAS friday last week and upgraded its DSM instantly).
I got serviio running, the S99serviio.sh works. I got a user called "serviio" (without password) with READ and WRITE access to the folders WEB and PUBLIC (public includes my media files).
The user "serviio" got no password and write access just for testing reasons. I wanted to change this later on to a good password and take away the write rights.
I also moved the script to /opt/etc/init.d and changed its owner and execution rights.
My TV (Panasonic) lists the serviio and I can access SOME of my files and they play well (mostly avis, MKVs and some VOBs).
Now I got two problems:
1. When I restart the NAS serviio is NOT started automatically. So I have to navigate to /opt/etc/init.d/ and run the S99serviio.sh script with the option "start" manually.
Right after the NAS booted in the DSM I just get the big red X which tells me, that SERVIIO is NOT running.
2. Because playing those MKVs (mentioned above) starts transcoding on the NAS, I reformatted them with mkv2vob into MPG files. But serviio does not update its library. It does not
rescan my media files (even if I force it to from within the DSM). I still see the MKVs, but no MPGs. It also lists some old files, that were moved away some days ago.
I hope, you can help me Because the standard DLNA server which comes with the NAS does not work at all for me.
It lists my files on the TV, but I do not get a preview video and cannot play any of the files (just a "Please wait" message appears for every file).
I previously used SERVIIO on my windows machine, where everything worked great, this is why I wanted to continue using SERVIIO.
