Serviio on NAS LaCie NetworkStorage 2

Hello world !

Last week, i bought a NAS for my Sony KDL-46EX700... And now, i search a solution to install Serviio on it... Try to find the mistake ;) Sony : 0 point ; Serviio : one point

My NAS is a LaCie NetworkSpace 2 http://www.lacie.com/download/qig/QIG_NetworkSpace2.pdf. I don't know the OS. I hope that it's Linux :?:

Can you help me ?

Thank you in advance

Re: Serviio on NAS LaCie NetworkStorage 2

With some googling....in french
http://www.exblog.fr/nas/20091026_lacie ... alternatif
http://linuxfr.org/news/nas-lacie-netwo ... alternatif
http://blog.hendricksen.eu/2009/07/29/g ... he-device/

But have a look at the last "Installing additional software" section at this link
http://lacie.nas-central.org/wiki/Categ ... rk_Space_2
There is an ongoing effort to install mldonkey and more optware packages into your Network Space 2. Please join this topic if you want to test/help.

This NAS is based on a MV88F6281 Kirkwood (800 MHz) (ARM926EJS)
NOTE: One screw of the hard disk is protected by a label "Warranty void if seal broken"
NOTE: it is now not longer necessary to disassemble the device to gain remote access through ssh. "See Enabling SSH without disassembling"

It seems that you don't have access easily to the firmware OS, and I'm not sure you could install alternative DLNA server software.
Is there someone that could confirm ?

If you compare with others that works well:
QNAP TS-419P+ (ARM) --> 1.6Ghz
QNAP TS-459 Pro+ (Intel) --> 1.8Ghz
Synology DS111 --> 1.6Ghz
It will be probably too short for HD transcoding content.
