PACKAGE: Serviio 2.1 - Synology NAS, with HW transcoding!

I wonder if someone could post a dummy's guide on how I could go about trying to fix my serviio console issue above.
It did work before I upgraded the Synology OS, I am on version DSM 5.0-4482
I have uninstalled the package and re-installed, but I am still getting the below when I browse to the console.
Any help to point this Synology noob in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

The latest DSM update seems to have broken Serviio. Any suggestions?

Uninstall and reinstall Java on the Synology device.

Then start the Serviio application from the 'Packages' area of the Synology interface (I'm pretty sure you'll find it's no longer running after the DSM upgrade).

Hi, Serviio was working fine on my DSM 5.0 (NAS 213j)
After update DSM to 5.1 beta, my Samsung TV is not showing in serviio console with green dot, but yellow.

After I trun on tv, it takes few minutes before serviio is detected. When I restart serviio service (while tv is on) it shows up quickly.
BTW reinstall java 8 didnt help.


Any idea why?

I have a DS414j and have installed Java SE 7 and set up the package url for Serviio but it does not appear in my Package Center under Community.

Any ideas?

I have a new DS1815+, Intel Atom C2538, and running DS; 5.1-5004, cant find serviio in package center. where or how can i get it? Tried Java SE 6 ,7 and 8 still nothing showing.

The new Java SE embedded 7 package refuses to load? I was trying to fix the false malware report by my Synology but the new package just won't load.

No idea where to find 'info' nor where 'packages' is

I solved it. I found the package here: http://packages.pcloadletter.co.uk/downloads/

open the *.spk file via 7zip and edited the info file like tingelinman wrote.

I got it installed on my DS414j after doing the hack above but it still doesn't work properly.

Hi I've got a D213j and a Mac. Serviio is intalled on my Nas and Serviio Console on my mac.
I can see photo in my folder but Ican't see any video on my video folder. It's empty.
What's the problem please?

Hm - any chance to bring 1.5.1 also to synology? Well - the 1.4.1.2 is working just fine but still I'm looking forward to get the last version on my system ...

HI I have used serviio for awhile now without many issues and any I have had I have found a solution on here but the problem I am having with the NAS I cant seem to see any other person having the same identical problem.

I have followed to the letter on how to install serviio on my synology DS212j. The Java loads and installs ok, the servio server installs and runs ok. I removed a version of serviio from my windows pc that I use to access my NAS and installed the latest version console only. I have gone into the serviio bin file and changed it to notepad and added -Dserviio.remoteHost=192.168.10.103 since the IP address is my NAS and 104 is the my pc.
I can see serviio (Diskstation) on all my devices which is great .

on the NAS I dont get a serviio console nor can I now get it on my PC to run. All the files on serviio (Diskstation) are empty and I can not map or add any because I can not get onto a console. I have given the user serviio permissions for all the folders and even tried moving files in the public folder but this does nothing. the log shows devices but no updating of files.

there is no serviio service on my PC
In the NAS public foder I have java ejre-7u75-fcs-b13-linux-arm-sflt-headless-18-Dec-2014.gz
NAS DSM is 5.1
windows 7 pc is 64 bit
at this time I have video station running on my nas console

what have I done wrong or what have I missed?

Please note I am only a novice when it comes to stuff like this. Only know my way around this far because of what I have read on these forums.

My only regret is to have purchased a license Serviio. Serviio is not supported by the developers as it is a user like us who do the job. There is no guarantee that Servio is installable in the future on Synology ... In my case I gave up and bought a license of Plex which is supported on Synology and rapidly updated.

I have tested Plex too.. but I found that serviio is much better.. when I have done some test Plex don't seems good to transcode some type of files rather than of serviio, never a problem.. serviio trascode all
I share your thoughts about the facts that was not supported by the developers and that's was not good by the way #goserviio
