That's not the correct Java for your CPU. Remove the java file you put in the Public shared folder and try to install the Java package with nothing downloaded to Public. The error will tell you specifically which Java file you need to get from the Oracle website. Selecting the wrong build and renaming the file will not work. Although Package Center will display a "running" status, Java is not actually properly installed unless you see the HotSpot version information when you look in the Java package log. This is explained in the blog post about the Java package.

I tried update my Synology DS213+ DSM 5.2 Serviio 1.5.2-0028 to Serviio 1.6 and got this error:

Serviio:
Port 23423 configured for this package is either used by another service or reserved for system use. Please disable or modify the conflicting service, or contact the developer to modify the package configuration.

From changelog:
You must have already upgraded to version 1.5.2-0028 or else Package Center will report a TCP port conflict and will fail to upgrade the package.

I have version 1.5.2-0028 installed, but still I get this error.

Should I uninstall old version before installing 1.6?

Stop Serviio, remove any firewall rules you may have created specifically for Serviio. Reboot your NAS. It should then let you upgrade without you having to uninstall and recreate your library and online sources.

Another problem is displaying http://serviio:ip:23424/mediabrowser/ in Internet Explorer 11 (Win 10 64bit).
I can see only black background. Thats all.
In Firefox everything OK.
Can anybody confirm this bug?

Works fine on Edge, but on IE11 in Developer Tools Console I see this:
SCRIPT5007: Object.keys: argument is not an Object
MediaBrowser-1.6.0-5.js (11,16255)

EDIT: resetting IE to default settings helped. Problem solved.

Hello,

First i want to thank you for your work on the Synology package. Great work.

I have upgraded to serviio 1.6 my DS216play NAS, but i've got a few issues :
I was unable to upgrade my 1.5.2-0028 installation, even after stopping the package and rebooting the NAS. As my library is not so big i have uninstalled the old version to be able to upgrade.

Since the upgrade, i encounter a high CPU (75-80%) usage when playing a movie on my tv, mostly by ffmpeg, even though i disabled transcoding (my samsung tv is actually better at decoding H.265 videos with subtitles). The CPU usage keep going on even after i exit the movie on tv. I didn't notice such behavior on the 1.5.2 version. Did i miss something?

By the way, my UE40H6400 tv has the "Samsung TV / player (E/F series)" profile applied by default instead of the "H-series" one, not sure if this is important or not.

Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, this is not working for me; still getting the "Port 23423 configured for this package is either used by another service or reserved for system use. Please disable or modify the conflicting service, or contact the developer to modify the package configuration" error. I have stopped Serviio and rebooted my NAS (DS213j) several times. I have no firewall rules active and currently have version 1.5.2-0028 installed. I'd like to prevent uninstalling. Any other ideas before I do this?

Odd. Well you could stop Serviio. Then connect as root via SSH:
  Code:
cp -R /var/packages/Serviio/target/library /volume1/@tmp/

Uninstall Serviio 1.5.2. Install Serviio 1.6 but don't start it. Then:
  Code:
rm -rf /var/packages/Serviio/target/library
mv /volume1/@tmp/library/ /var/packages/Serviio/target/

Start Serviio. Your library, licence key, and online sources will be preserved.

If you're running DSM 6.0 beta 2 you need to connect to SSH as admin (root no longer allowed). Once connected run "sudo -i" and use the admin password again to switch to root.

Thanks! Will try that and post the result here.

Hello,

Just to add to my previous post, i have done a bit of testing and it seems that the transcoding stay on even if i uncheck the option. I got the exact same behavior with it on or off, and i was able to read an H.265 encoded movie on my ISP box which is not able to decode H.265, even with the option unchecked.

Is there any way to check the Serviio config files outside of the web console ?

Thanks

Hi,

I had the problem of the TCP port to update from 1.5.2-0028 to 1.6.0-0029

As you have informed me I followed your procedure for updating to 1.6

- I save the library
- then I uninstalled Serviio
- installed 1.6.0 without problem

but when I tried your command to delete the the library folder it say's "permission denied"

I'm connected as admin and I have not started Serviio after the new installation

Do you have an idea ?

You should log in as root not admin.
If you're running DSM 6.0 beta 2 you need to connect to SSH as admin (root no longer allowed).
Once connected run "sudo -i" and use the admin password again to switch to root.

I think some settings require a Serviio restart.

I have tried to restart the package (and even the NAS) multiple time without success. I have the same behavior on the Windows version of Serviio 1.6 so it seems that it is not related to your Synology package. I have made a new thread here : viewtopic.php?f=5&t=21480

Thanks for your help.

Ok my mistake

It worked as root, thanks to both of you :-)
