Serviio 1.6 is only few days away from release, it has too many new features so best to wait.

I didnt release v1.6 as zip is launching an official package through the QNAP App Centre

Seems like qnap are taking their time to launch it

Likewise waiting and waiting. I thank people so much for the work they have done on this but for me I have been unable to stream media from the QNAP since this broke last year. Been an expensive paperweight. Only Serviio plays nicely with my Panasonic tvs.

Just wish the Qnap process had been much faster. Has left me wishing I had gone with the Synology box after all.
Serviio fan. DLNA to Panasonic VT tvs, QNAP 651 and Synology 916 NAS boxes.

Re: PACKAGE: Serviio 1.5 for QNAP NAS (ARM & x86 Intel)

+1

I really love Serviio on my PC. I've transitioned my media to a QNAP NAS, hoping that the super comfortable DLNA stuff will just work there.
However the built-in options (basic DLNA server, Twonky) both failed spectacularly. Seemingly chaotic codec incompatibilities, triggering of media store refresh upon new item stopped working. These failures were uknown to me when I used Serviio on my desktop PC.
I then discovered the unofficial ways of running Serviio on my NAS. It was a few months ago. I decided to wait for 1.6 (and a stable, sorta-official package) mainly because of the new web-based administration interface.

I'm using my NAS with HDMI output since, but it's a hassle compared to DLNA method. I just don't know what the F are they doing with the Serviio package, why not just release it. I'm considering opening a support ticket...

UPDATE: I've harassed QNAP support about it, last info now (18 April):
it should be within one week.

Patience :)

1.6.1 is now officially in the App Center. Hopefully it'll be a bit smoother from now on.

At last. Setup and configuration went well, everything seems to function. IMHO this is the best DLNA server on every support platform :)
