Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

I'll check it out thanks. Is that with 1.0.1 or 1.1, as some of the changes in 1.1 will mean the load times under original quality can be much lower.

I no longer have 1.0.1 any longer, 1.1 had too many fixes I needed. So could have made a difference. The ffmpeg source for bsplayer is available if you ever think of integrated video player.

Its available for all of them, sadly its still quite a bit of work to get it all hooked up and working. Having said that, I have been playing with doing an intergrated one for for Low and Medium quality to support seeking (as Original quality is now working for other apps and I would only have to deal with one codec/container), the basic playback without seeking kind of works, but needs a lot of work to finish it properly so it won't be done for a while if ever. It will also probably be JB+ (maybe ICS+) only.

Right now I'm working on a number of big changes for the next version and hope to have a beta release out in a few weeks with lots of things for testing and feedback.

Which containers would you want it for, just XXX->Folders, or others as well?

Yes thats what i want

I wish there was any ways getting higher res images for Online Sources unless ServiioGo retrieves the thumbnails from the source again?

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

OK. I've implemented it and it will be in the beta. Tbh I'm not a big fan of it, so it may be off by default, but it will be there.

Sadly there isn't (unless I downloaded the video and generated a thumbnail myself in the client). Its looking better now that I have TheTVDB.com intergration, I'm also extracting high res album art from the mp3's once they have been fully downloaded so browsing through artsits/album artists is now quite nice, so I've now covered getting nicer thumbnails for most content, but online sources is definately one where I will just have to use the ones that Serviio provides.

There is an open ticket to enable higher def thumbnails in Serviio, so it should then sort that out.

If you are a beta tester, please look at my post in the lastest beta thread about a profile change for online sources and test it out.

Dear all,

I'm using Serviigo on my Android Device and I love it, but I just buy a Windows phone 8 (lumia 920). Could you think that a development on WP8 is planned?

Best regards,

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Hi everyone. The first beta for the next version of ServiiGo is now ready to download. I had hoped to get more of it done by this point, but I haven't had much free time, I may get a chance to release a revised version before christmas, otherwise it will be in the new year. This is what has changed so far

  Code:
==== 2.0 Beta 1 ====
*Started on TheTVDB intergration for additional metadata for your tv shows (#30) (donate version)
*High-res album art is extracted from music once it has been fully downloaded (Android 2.3.3 and up) (donate version)
*Improved image slideshow (more responsive controls (#27), lower memory use and better prefetching)
*Re-worked navigation via a slide out menu (G+/YouTube style)
*Unique icons for containers (#25)
*UI adjustments to video view including swipe left/right to change between videos
*Re-designed artist and album artist browsing experince using grids of artwork
*Performance and memory optimisations to the image manager
*Lots of bug fixes, performance optimisations and UI adjustments
*Updated libraries

Specifically, 'started on TheTVDB intergration', this is not finished and I would like some suggestions as to how best to use the data. I'm thinking of having a subset of it on the series view, with a full show info activity linked to via episodes or series overview which would contain the full list of info.

My todo list for the next beta/final version contains the following:
  Code:
*Finish off TheTVDB intergration
*Pre-fetch album art when browsing through artists/album artsits
*Tablet movie view
*Replace the low res thumbnails with high res ones so that they can be used when browsing, not just viewing details

So please have a good play with the app and give me lots of feedback on the new things and what is comming up. Also if you are a Serviio beta tester, please try the profile I posted in the beta thread and check that your online streams work under Original quality.

You should be able to swipe it open and closed by swiping in the border between the menu and content, if that is what you mean?

I meant when you swipe from left to right, it brings out the menu. To put back the menu the should able to swipe right to left to swipe back the menu

You can, but you have to start the swipe around the join between the menu and content. I could make it respond to a swipe from right to left anywhere.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

I'd already been using Serviio/ServiiGo as a way to stream video to my tablet around the house or to WAN but now that Audiogalaxy may be shutting down next year, I'm looking at using it as my primary audio player for my collection (2 TB of music, mainly FLAC and quite a lot in 24-bit) on the go too. Could last.fm scrobbling and the ability to play and queue entire folders via long press be added? Also, the ability to start ServiiGo in a certain folder too (e.g. Audio -> Artists) would be handy too.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

I was looking at the last.fm API a few weeks ago, for that reason and also to try and fetch some extra metadata. It won't be in 2.0 (which will probably be out in the beginig of the new year, maybe a bit before), but I'll try and get it into 2.1. I have a number of other music player related improvements todo (shuffle, repeate, prefetch multiple tracks, update the UI) but am trying to finish off TheTBDB.com intergration first.

I do also really want to get queuing entire folders working, although for the forseable future it will only be when using artist/album artists view as I have no way to tell how deep the traditional folder hierarchy will be.

In the next version it starts at the last content type you viewed, e.g. Audio, or Video, so that will help. If you want, give the beta for 2.0 a try (there is a link a few posts back), its got some nice UI adjustments to audio browsing.

Back to the music player UI for tablets, any thoughts/suggestions. I'm not very happy with it tbh. Its better in the beta with the high res album art, but it looks (and is) like its just the playlist and now playing shoved together.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Thanks for the reply Will - looking forward to those features being implemented in future versions. Will have a play with 2.0 although the interface is already better than AudioGalaxy's in some ways!
