Serviio

Hi,
I want to develop an app using Serviio. But i have no idea about it. Before moving forward I just want to know that, is it possible to develop an app that can play music/video to any devices connected to serviio server? More precisely can I stream media from my app to any connected device such as AVR, PC etc?

Are you trying to build a DLNA controller (ie sending a video from Serviio to a device), or a player (ie playing in in your app)?

I think it will be a DLNA controller.
Basically I want my own app to control (play,pause,stop media from any online resources) my Yamaha AVR.
I'll appreciate if anyone can advice me whether any API is available or not.

for DLNA controller you will have to get hold of the DLNA and UPnP specs. It'll then work with any DLNA server. But there should already be apps like this for the mobile OSes.
