Re: Android Console

Not sure yet If I will go for Serviioid or ServiiDroid yet, although I'm leaning towards ServiiDroid. Anwway, thoughts on the logo text. Keep it all the same size or do something like this?

Re: Android Console

Well that was the other option, all upper or a mix. I'll have a play with it in the app and see what looks best.

@zip Just a final check before I refactor and rename everything - your happy with 'ServiiDroid' as a name?

Re: Android Console

@Cerberus

Not sure why the app just crashed for you, it apeared to get half way through the JSON parsing and then fail to read the rest, however I've restructured the part that it crashed in to fix another problem so that shouldn't happen in the next release.

Was the server just starting/stopping / was there a connection problem?

Re: Android Console

Well I still don't want the app crashing even if the server is doing something odd. Anyway, should be fixed in the next version.

Re: Android Console

@All users running Android 2.1/2.2

I've worked out why you can't save information such as ignoring server versions. Basically I was using a method that does the save in the background, however it wasn't actually added until 2.3 and hense the crash and me not knowing what was wrong. This is fixed in the next release.

Re: Android Console

I'm going to have a go at setting something up for translating the app. If you are interested in helping go to http://www.getlocalization.com/serviidroid/ sign up and start translating :) If its crap let me know and I'll try and find something else, if it seams easy to use then also let me know.

Do not translate the strings about_text or copyright_short
Do not translate the words 'Serviio', 'ServiiDroid', or any of the following holder words SOURCE PORT ADDRESS ITEM INDEX ILLEGAL_CHAR VERSION CURRENT_VERSION REQUIRED_VERSION FEATURE PARAMETER0 PARAMETER1 PARAMETER2 etc

Also don't forget to contact me with your name (real or otherwise) so that I can add it to the about box text

@ZIP have you considered using a similar site for managing translations?

Just looking at that, had not idea something like this exists. Let me know your experiences and I can move to this model in future.

Do you want to split English in English (UK) and English (US)? I have seen it that way on different programs not sure it is worth it.

It looks quite good and I will let you know how it goes.

I'm happy to have any languages that people want, however I simply don't have time at the moment to do any of the translations myself (not that I would be very good anyway).

The default will be English UK. Do translate any relivent words into US english if you want.

I saw, thanks. Any thoughts on the translation service?
