Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

I've now finished the conversion from ActionbarSherlock to AppCompat and have uploaded 3.0 Beta 2. There is potential for a number of graphical issues on older devices, so please do try it out.

  Code:
==== 3.0 Beta 2 ====
*Requires Android 2.3.3+
*Replaced ActionBarSherlock with AppCompat
*Updated themes to better match official material design guidelines

Also let me know if you have any ideas of what I could do to make the status view a little more interesting...

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

I'm please to announce that ServiiDroid 3.0 is now out. I've still got some changes that I want to make, but I want to get feedback from more users first, so they will come in 3.1.

  Code:

*Requires Android 2.3.3+
*New Material design
*Improved first run and add server workflow
*Improved license upload workflow
*Added support for Serviio 1.5 Beta
*Moved the 'Advanced' tab to the left for easier access
*Added an action to delete all unrecognised devices
*Simplified app preferences
*Added Google Analytics to help track app usage (e.g Server versions, common actions, Android version)
*Re-wrote Serviio API client to use OkHttp
*Replaced ActionBarSherlock with AppCompat
*Replaced cling with android-dlna for server discovery
*Lots of bug fixes and improvements

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

It's been a while, but time for a new update. Feature wise it's a minor update, the version jump is because it now required Android 4.0.3+

  Code:
=== 3.2 ===
*Requires Android 4.0.3+
*Removed support for re-ordering online sources on Serviio 0.6.x/1.0.x
*Add full support for Serviio 1.5.2
*Various design tweaks
*Updated SDK, build tools and libraries
*Updated translations

Google have recently changed the beta program options, so I've changed ServiiDroid's to use the open program where all you have to do is go to https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.serviidroid to opt-in, no need to join the group first.

Oh and I didn't get a chance to annouce it because I was on holiday, but ServiiDroid has now been downloaded over 100,000 times!

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

Even if this question might be very simple, I was not able to find a proper answer spending hours.

What is the syntax to be adhered to while placing "local" or "path" determinations for the library to the app? I tried a couple of options, not successfull yet. Serviio is sitting on a NAS in my LAN/wireless. Usually I would go with:
\\JCHK_NAS_DS212P\video
being translated by the app to something like /usr/syno/...\\JCHK_NAS_DS212P\video. And no, no files added to the library from there.
I also tried /JCHK_NAS_DS212P/video. Nope.

Thanks for your help!

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

you need to enter the local path on the NAS, ie the way the server process sees it. Not the network name.

If Serviio is running on your NAS, then you will want the path to your media from the view of your NAS, something like /volume1/video from what I can find on Google. Does that help?

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

Hi Will, first testing attempt goes right.

=== 3.3 (with latest serviio beta, ndA)===
*Full support for Serviio 1.6 ----OK
**Browse for a folder to add to the library -----OK: works on my Linux server, usefull feature/improvements, makes things more easy.
**Enhanced status view ----OK: added library files counter, as I can see
**Subtitle settings changes ---language sub set trough ServiiDroid has always been not working here: now I can set lang. trough SD, but if I set it trough serviio console SD show an empty field; other times SD and the console completely ignore each other settings. I don't know, Will....
**New stacking settings ----OK: enabling and disabling works, but I have no files to try this....

*Various minor bug fixes
*Updated SDK, build tools and libraries

That's all, I guess. Regards

Yeah I found that first issue in testing. I don't use subtitles so never noticed. Will investigate the second issue when I get a chance.
