Thanks for looking into incorporating 'Log' into webconsole.

For me at-least, i hardly change the serviio settings once i have everything the way i wanted. However, i still use serviioweb console to manage the contents/sources as well as unfortunately use other 3rd party apps for few other things like logs, plugin management, CPU usage by both Java and FFmpeg processes, and lastly the server reboot. I would think webconsole is in a perfect position to leverage its flexibility to manage just bit more than just vanilla serviio settings. Of course it is easier said than done as someone actually have to put their precious time and effort in to this but i though i just put it out there. We can't thank enough to both Mark and Swoop for keeping this project alive.

I would loved to be able to do following from webconsole:
1. View Log
2. View Installed Plugins with version Install (too bad not all plug dev following version numbering)
3. Update/Install Plugins - [i have a semi working version of this feature - pic below]
4. View basic server resource usage - CPU, Memory as well as processes Java and ffmpeg (i use webmin for now)
5. Reboot the server
6. Also, mediabrowser in the webconsole with iframe but with an option to launch separate session with a click

I think Mark was planning something with this
this could be linked to http://www.serviidb.com/ to see of the plugins is broken or working or even seeing theres an updated version

played a little bit around with the log file output so this is what came out

Still some work left on the browse button though...

Hi, thanks for the webui. I managed to install it on my WD MBL. but have a problem adding library with space and/or "&" character on folder name. posted a thread here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2961&p=72627#p72627

the shared folder actually '/shares/Public/03-Pics & Vids', but when I add it to library, and refresh the webUI, It shows '03-Pics'.
It shows '03-Pics' when I browse from TV, and it's empty.
Of course I can just rename the folder and be done with, just like to share what I think is a bug for Serviio Web UI.

German Console language bugs pretty much everything for me, can't add new folders or get to rescan metadata / folders, setting it back to englisch and everything works.just wanted to let you know

I have fixed and added some functions to Serviio 1.3. The list of works are below
- Added "Enable access for new devices" option
- Added "Default Access group" option
- Changed "No_Restriction" and "Limited_Access" to "No Restriction" and "Limited Access" under access groups
- Re-Added Log File viewing
- Added "Subtitle character encoding" option
- Fixed MediaBrowser link under Remote tab
- Fixed Library Section issues
- Added Log file select option under "Logs"
- Bugfixes

* "Log file select" writing and calling log file path informations from "logfile.txt" placed under root of serviioweb folder. Linux users don't forgot give permission 777 to this file. Also don't forgot give permission serviio log folder for access to this folder.

No its based off of an older version (1.4b1), so the fixes have had to be selectively ported into it from 1.4b2/1.4b3. Its also now in a completely seperate repo which means its lost all of the history, so quite difficult to merge the just the 1.3 changes into the main repo. Its therefore probably esiest to simply add the Serviio 1.3 changes directly to your 1.4.b3, using the other repository source as reference when needed, and continue from there.

Thanks for al the work you put in this web UI.
After installing it I wanted to add a folder, but because the manual <a href="http://www.eg-blog.de/?p=573">Serviio Web Console 1.2a – 001 Synology package</a> (running on NAS as package but the same code more or less) told me that I had to use 'Add Path..', I wanted to try that.
Unfortunately there was no button 'Add Path..'.
After spending hours of searching the serviio-forum, synology-forum and google searches without any results, I started to search inside the code.
With little to non tech experience, I think I found the sollution.

The 'Add Path' button is placed in between 'comment tags' therefor it is not visable.
Also the 'onclick' event is placed outside the button, which I found out after removing the comment tags.
After placing the onclick event inside the button, everything worked fine.
So I think I found a bug, but also gave the solution.

This was the original submission by someone else who experienced the same problem.

Could you have a look and let me know if I am right, or am I making a big mistake with changing the library.php like this?

just got round to installing this web ui on my 12.04 headless ubuntu server. first time ive setup a webserver so made some rough notes as i went as i didnt read the whole of the 16 pages in this thread.
all appears to be working just fine so far with Serviio PRO v 1.3.1 EVALUATION license - WebUI v 1.5beta1.

a few tips for other ubuntu 12.04 server users

once you have apache and php installed dont forget to install php curl and php xml modules
sudo apt-get install php-xml-parser
sudo apt-get install php5-curl

disable your default virtual host
a2dissite default

put your downloaded webui directory in /var/www/serviiowebui
create a logs dir in the serviiowebui dir with
mkdir logs
create a serviiowebui file in /etc/apache2/sites-available/ containing something like this

ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost
ServerName serviiowebui
DocumentRoot /var/www/serviiowebui
ErrorLog /var/www/serviiowebui/logs/error.log

enable the site
a2ensite serviiowebui

restart the apache server
service apache2 restart

on my server apache was throwing up some errors regarding fqdn so i added the below to stop them
adding the below to /etc/apache2/httpd.conf
ServerName localhost

this should get you going, if something dont work check your logs

I see a problem on the Delivery tab. The number of cores remains at 4 and does not show the actual value, 2, which can be seen with the stock Serviio console. Other changes I make seem to be persistent.

Okay, I also tried https://github.com/SwoopX/Web-UI-for-Serviio.git just now, which seems more current. The value for "Number of CPU cores to use" seems to change to 2 when saved but remains at 4 when I go back to the page. I'm not positive if it was ever at 4.

What HW do you have? My Serviio is running on an Atom NAS which has 2 cores, but with HT so I got 4 cores

I have an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400. It's from 2008 so it doesn't do hyperthreading.

If I look at the value in the stock Serviio console, it shows as 2. I can see that the value posts as 2 when I look at the debug output on the WebUI PHP page. It just shows as 4 in the WebUP PHP page.

I don't know if this is related, but I haven't changed my library settings in a few updates. All files in the library are on a /storage partition. I don't know why it is scanning /root, if that is what is going on. The folders in that tree have 775 permissions and the files have 664. Everything seems to be working, though, despite these errors.

thanks for the info and also the debug output.

Now, for the CPU count thinggy, you have a CPU with 4 cores. I'd assume Serviio would return 4 cores as well while issuing the following command:

If you now select the max number of cores in the delivery tab and save it, the command

should also list 4 threads. Anything else would really suprise me Please note that the values are not refreshed automatically after saving so you must do it manually with F5. If that's not the case, please let me know and I'll try tor reproduce that behaviour.

With regard to the errors, a handful of them are related to obsolete code which can be removed A few are pointing to the file config.php which doesn't make sense to me and the rest is related to the jquery foldertree which, on the first look, has no read access to some folders. So all in all nothing serious. Btw, jquery foldertree starts scanning / . Generally, I'm not happy with that but it's somehow necessary to ensure "interoperability"... I cannot know where people install web_ui or Serviio If you feel uncomfortable with that, you could change the scan folder in index.php, line 1645 to something more convenient.

One other thing though: Have you downloaded the 1.3 branch from my git repo if you're using Serviio 1.3 or 1.3.1?
