I think someone wanted to create one, try to search the forum. Otherwise wait for 1.0 is out, it'll have an API that you could probably use.

I don't know if the above has ever been started but over the next month im going to have ago at looking into creating the Samsung app for a better user experience. The aim is to have the media content displayed more like the web browser feature in 1.0 so users can see a summery and title cover.

With out getting into too much detail I have one question.
Im going to want the app to have two login/connecting features for the different user types.

One is were its done through the web using the new api were serviio isn't on the local network.
The second option will be to connect via the network (upnp) as how serviio would normally work but by doing this will I be able to access the meta data like the web browser dose by having film descriptions ect

Descriptions etc are there, there are some things that are not available via DLNA such as video type [movie, episode, unknown] and online ids eg IMDb or TMDb but that is only needed if you want to query those databases for high resolution artwork without performing an additional search first.

Best bet is use a tool to examine responses.

I'm slowly! Working on a ui for a 2011 samsung tv. It's progressing, and I'll open source the code on google code once I have something others can build on. The MAPLE browser on this model is a bit of a pain, but so far I can login and query fine via the rest api. I need to confirm playback (hopefully later this week), sort out how I want the ui to work with a remote, and add links into imdb etc for info. I know I started this ages ago, but progress is being made!
