Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Hi Will,

I have installed the new version. First look I think it is much faster reading directories with videos.
Directories with music files (mp3) not. If I click on a directory (round about 280 mp3 files)
nothhig happens (waiting for one minute) but if i click back and then on the directory again, all files are viewable.

Thanks & Regards,

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Did it do that previously? I haven't touched the loading (scrolling should be smoother on older devices). For the next big release I might get round to loading in chunks. When you go back and then select the folder again, does it appear instantly? If so that suggests it was loaded, but didn't notify the UI

If you log out and back in again, can you try leaving it until it does load (give up after a few min) .

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Scrolling is excellent now. The problem (loading directory) was also in the previous version. You´re right, I think the directory is loading successfully but didn´t notify the UI
because if I click back and select the folder again, the inventory does appear instantly. After I loged out and back in again I clicked on a folder with 320 mp3 files, after
5 minutes I gave up, clicked back and on the folder again and all files are displayed directly.

OK, I'll try to reproduce that tomorrow night.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Nice work Will, just installed it on my HP TouchPad running CM9

Is it possible to hide the date and resolution next to the thumbnail, think its too much info at the side
Also can you make the categories for each item (ie Last Viewed, Last Added, Folders, Online) into folders? this way its easier to press

On the tablet, theres seems to be alot speace under the credits to the movie art, can this space not used for movie description instead over the movie art image?

Great work Will. No problem with audio here. Playlist of 482 mp3's took only
3 seconds. 7" Nextbook.

I might simply show a HD icon in the corner, rather than the full resolution. I'll play around with the date but I think it is important.
Well that is why I want unique icons for them, so that I don't have to use a boring folder icon. Worse case I'll make a few icons that show a folder containing audio, images and video and use those.

Can you post a screenshot, I do have a few alternative layouts and dimentions that adjust the positioning if there is space, but I might not be picking your touchpad up properly. Do you get a side bar when navigating and how many items do you get in the grid under each orientation?

Can you confirm that lock screen controls and artwork properly on CM9?

I think it is going to be a subtle problem as I have folders with 500+ photos that load fine. Not sure yet though.

I have tried ver. 1.1 and it is not translated in Czech. Is it bug or the translations are still not implemented?

Sorry I thought I had done that ages ago but obviously didn't. I'll go over all the translations tonight.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

I've uploaded 1.1 to Google Play, enjoy!

  Code:
==== 1.1 ====
*Switched to using grids when browsing for better use of horizontal space
*Adjusted video browsing to show larger thumbnails
*Added lock screen audio controls on ICS+
*Added expandable notifications on JB+ and updated notification icons for all platforms
*Added performance optimisations for smoother scrolling on older devices and enabled fast scrolling for folders with lots of content
*Added icons for top level folders
*Increased the size of cover art in the Music Player on tablets in portrait
*Fixed FC on JB due to bitmaps being silently recycled by the OS
*Fixed the playlist not updating on tablets in some cases
*Fixed not being able to use back to exit on tablets
*Lots of other small bug fixes, performance optimisations, and layout adjustments
*Added Czech (Czech Republic) translation and updated other translations - thank you!
*Updated libraries

Heres a screenshot in portrait mode - http://www.xmantium.com/serviio/Screens ... -34-03.png
As you can see, alot of gaps

and heres landscape - http://www.xmantium.com/serviio/Screens ... -36-10.png

Since the TouchPad is similar size as my iPad and not widescreen i always use it in portrait mode.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

OK thanks, I'll add a touchpad specific configuration to fix that.

Edit: I've found conflicting info about the display configuration, can you download and install https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... screeninfo and ideally post a screen shot or at least post the following: 'Screen DPI', 'X DPI' and 'Y DPI'

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

OK, that is what I thought it would be. I've just uploaded an update that should fix that for you.
  Code:
==== 1.1.1 ====
*Minor adjustments to the video view in portait mode on wide tablets running HC+

The background is the first backdrop from TMDb (which I think is the highest rated). Maybe in the future, I have quite a bit on my list that I want to get done first :)

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

First of all I lift my hat for a really cool feature..:)

Of course when you see the potential you want more...

The thing is that in the lan at home there are more than on Serviio server (two lap-tops right now) and of course I would like to reach both from the wan..:) Now I wonder if it is as easy as forwarding a different port, lets say 23426, to one of the laptops lan IP in the router. And then separate them in ServiiGo that way?

Cheers, and again big thanks for job well done!

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Yes that would work. Just enter the address like this:

dynamicdnsname:port

Then switch the port number to switch servers.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Regarding two PC running Serviio on the same lan.

hmmm..yes thought it should work also but after testing it seems not that easy anyway. Could it need some tweaking in Serviio also, like modifying some file?

Cheers.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

You will need to forward 23424 -> machine1:23424 and 23425 - > machine2:23424 in your router's settings. Note the source and target port will be different.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Okay, solved, great that it is possible to have multiple Serviio servers on the lan and still reach all of them from everywhere..:)

Thanks for the assistance, I am just a happy amateur regarding these things..:)

Cheers

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

I've got a bit of free time over the bank holiday weekend. Any requests? Any feedback on the last release? If I don't hear much I'll work on what I want next :)

This morning I've started work on a Music Player widget (as a dry run for a last added video widget), so far I have a 4x1 one with title, artist, play/paues and next. I'll make it resizable for ICS+, but as a general basis, what sizes would people be most interested in? E.g. 4x1 with basic stuff + with/without artwork?, I could also do a 4x4 with large artwork and more details etc...

I've made some adjustments to the video grids to make them a bit more visually pleasing. I'm going to try and pick a secondary colour for text headings that isn't white to make things stand out a bit more, any suggestions?
