Re: Hulu (US only)

wondering if its time to have an all new groovy (or alternate one) for Hulu that took advantage of the 'grid'.

eg.
http://www.hulu.com/grid?name=episodes&from=/lost-in-space

rss
http://www.hulu.com/feed/search?fs=0&query=Lost+in+Space&sort_by=relevance&st=0&type=episode

Instead of using RSS to gather a series, it would be better to turn the groovy into a web-resource, so we could actually get every episode avaible instead of the last 25 in the list.

Re: Hulu (US only)

Similar to a couple weeks ago before the Hulu plugin was updated, I have again suddenly lost all Hulu feeds after working yesterday. Anyone else noticing this?

Re: Hulu (US only)

This is a great site, but since yesterday the Hulu feeds have not worked. I have gotten all of my web resource (ie. CBS (US) shows to work, but things that I was able to see last week (White Collar - USA) are visible but no programs. This is true for all Hulu feeds. Any suggestions?

I have a lot of problems streaming things that need to be transcoded.
An hour of Hulu will easily create a temp file over a gigabyte in size for transcoding. I wonder if your temp file gets too large and something crashes? Is there enough free drive space? Does it stop playing when the temp file reaches the same size every time with different files? I think some of the Hulu files are just bad. I've seen some that will die in the exact same place every time. Some might be 50 minutes in and others might be 3 min. after starting.
I can never resume, skip forward or backward in a Hulu file. It will cause it to hang every time and it has to restart. All I can do is pause it.
I seem to have problems with anything that needs to be transcoded. Is your problem just Hulu or do other sources that need to be transcoded have the same problem? I could give you more details, but this is already getting off topic for this thread. I've been trying to figure this out for about 10 months now.

Thanks for your response, jctoad
Unfortunately, I do not have any other source with movies. Live streams seem to play fine. Crackle movies stop after anything between 5-15 mins.
I checked my PC logs and no errors seen. Plenty of free space. The OS is Win7-64bit.

I realise this is off-topc for this thread, so, have started a new one in the User Experience Section.

Re: Hulu (US only)

Anybody else having trouble with the hulu plug-in all the sudden? I have the new one and it worked last week but now none of my hulu feeds have any shows.

Any ideas?

my bad I grabbed the full pack and it seems it hasn't been updated to have the latest hulu plug-in. Grabbed the 10/6 one and all is well again.

Thanks!

Re: Hulu (US only)

Hello,

I am thinking about purchasing Serviio just because I love this plugin so much! However, I have a few questions...

1) I've tested this on Windows and this Hulu plugin works perfectly! Will it work just as well for Mac?
2) Currently on Hulu, you have to to be logged in and provide your DISH subscriber information in order to play videos from Fox. However, there is no logging in with this plugin...Can this plugin push Fox TV shows to my DLNA capable BluRay player if I am logged in with my default browser?
3) Off topic but this is my first post and my username has a typo in it. It's supposed to be 'superkrups20056'. Is there a way to change this? Thank you.

Re: Hulu (US only)

It'll work on Mac. Currently there is no support for logged in users in this plugin.

Re: Hulu (US only)

Plugin works perefct except for a small but hugely annoying issue-
Hulu's shows RSS has a LIMIT to the amount of episodes it indexes... This actually causes some shows to not supply any working streams via this plugin, because the latest episodes might be Hulu Plus only while the earlier ones are free and the latest ones clog up the RSS until it reaches its indexing limit.
Example: Arrested Development - http://www.hulu.com/feed/show/51/episodes.
Season 2 and 3 are Hulu Plus only, while season 1 which is free Hulu isn't indexed because seasons 2 and 3 max out the amount of episodes indexed in the RSS. Plus, I think we should be able to see all available episodes without having to endure limits.
Any solutions for this problem?

I don't mean to criticize, but Serviio is such a well written program for streaming even with the most problematic devices, but the user-interface limitations and having to rely on the suppliers RSS files make this programs brilliant streaming capabilities to be completely overlooked and undermined.

Re: Hulu (US only)

You can get serviio to filter by series if you add this to the string in the console e.g. arrested+development+s1. :D
This will start your list of streams from the beginning of series 1. I haven't tried but i'm guessing hulu+ episodes might not work
