extract the files from the rar archive to your serviio/plugins directory.

Do they show up in the log, as long as they do they should be working, but there is no indication from the console which plugins are loaded and which are not.

As an example, adding the YouTube plugin does not autmatically add an Online source called YouTube. What it does is allow serviio to understand how to get at the media files when you add a YouTube URL.

Some RSS feeds have the media directly in them so do not need plugins, while others have links to websites so a plugin is needed to extract the information.

You still need to add a new entry to online sorces for each feed/resource you want to view.

Hi..I just joined and I am enjoying learning linux and serviio. I have had success with using serviio to play my movies and such. I am still working on getting the live feeds to work. I have downloaded and installed all the available plugins. My question is that once I put a Groovy file in serviio I also have to add the url in the console. For example...I have the cnn groovy file in my serviio plugin directory. I use this for the url,

http://rss.cnn.com/rss/edition.rss

It shows up on my UPnP player but does not do anything when I click on it. So I am just wondering if I have the correct url. More information would be very helpful.

correct the groovy allow the use of the specific url so CNN groovy allow use of CNN rss urls. :)

this may still not work if online transcoding is not setup for your device but as you havent specified what device you are using im not sure :)

Thank you very much for the reply. I have a file server with Ubuntu 11.10 on it. I am trying to play the live feeds on my Android phone. I am using the Android UPnP player and it easily plays movies I have stored on the server. My plan is to eventually get this working on my New Samsung TV. Is there more information you need? Should I install an older version of Serviio?

Which android upnp player are you using there is lots? i recommend the one in this link http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=androidtools as it works perfectly, samsungs will work perfect with online feeds as it is already all setup for them.

I am using the UPnPlay. It shows the feed but does not stream. I am going to try my TV tonight. So my goal for going this route is that I had apple TV where I installed XBMC on it. I do see the megavideo feed. Does that feed work on a Samsung TV? What are some things you recommend for Serviio that work with Samsung TV's.

Thanks for your support..NJ
