timmythekid wrote:Hey there! Brand new to using Serviio this way, and really excited to see Crackle may be a possibility on my Pivos AIOS media streamer, THANK YOU!!! I've installed the plugin, and used the second (longer) URL from the first post in this thread. Crackle shows up as a long list of films (some other URL for the TV eps?), and selecting a film, I'm happily watching '3:10 to Yuma'! Wait...starring Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong? Okay, let's try '20,000,000 Miles to Earth'. Aaaaaand 'Three Worlds of Gulliver' is playing. Habbawah? The plugin seems to work fine, but what's going on with the actual list in relation to what film streams? Any thoughts?

Haven't personally seen this happen. I can take a look later. Anyone else having issues?

Re: Crackle

Thanks! Don't know if it makes any difference, but I'm in Canada - do I need a specific link instead of the one from the first post? Oh, and on other devices (Sony Blu player) Crackle streams fine.

I was unable to reproduce the issue. It's probably due to you being in Canada. I can see if there is a way around this.

Try grabbing the RSS url directly from crackle. If that doesn't work try changing http://wpcdn1-media-us-am.crackle.com$2 to http://wpcdn1-media-ca-am.crackle.com$2 as well

If the second works, I can look at internationalizing the url.

Re: Crackle

Sorry, I'm a bit thick when it comes to this stuff apparently. I'm not sure where I would find what you're saying to trying changing - nothing like that string appears in the url for the RSS feed from Crackle that I'm using. I did figure out that the movie list conforms to the RSS list as it shows up in my browser, but the titles on the streamer are almost all mismatched (for example, if I look at the feed on my laptop and see that '5000 fingers of Dr T' is number 4 in the list, then, despite the 4th title in 'Online' in the upnp/serviio list on the streamer being ' 2 Days in Paris', it's 5000 Fingers. I think, THINK, it looks like it might have something to do with the RSS feed sending 'Newest' whereas the titles are coming in alphabetical order for some reason, but no matter what I choose prior to clicking the RSS feed button, it always lists as newest. Thanks, and does thing make any sense at all?

Re: Crackle

Just thought I'd chime in as well. My title list is not alphabetical, and the title selected is the title that plays. I think you are on the right track that it is likely related to being in Canada. All my Sony players and my Panasonic TV list them the same way.

Re: Crackle

Mike,

Is it possible to sort the results returned from Crackle? Either alphabetical or by date added? Either one would be nice, but personally I'd like to see the latest additions on top. That way it's easy to see what has been added to the list.

Thanks!

It's been a few days since I've used it, but it was working then. I'll check it this evening.

Re: Crackle

Just fired up a Sony player and selected Crackle. Playing 1941 (first movie on the list) with no issues. Audio is AAC 2.0 (may be a transcoding result, I don't know what native audio they use). Overall stream bitrate is averaging about 0.5Mbps, with peaks about 1.4Mbps. Switched to Star Troopers 3 (more screen action), and I'm seeing bitrates just over 2Mbps peak. Looks about normal for online sources. Didn't try the Roku, and since they have a native app for Crackle, no real reason to.

Maybe Crackle was having an issue when you tested it.

Re: Crackle

This was working fine before I wiped my computer and installed Windows 10. I forgot to save the URL I used for Crackle, and the few I found don't seem to work any longer. Does anyone in the US still have Crackle working? I like running it through Serviio, even though my TV has a Crackle app. That way I don't get the commercials! :P

Re: Crackle

Crackle, much like Hulu, has done away with their RSS feeds so this plugin doesn't work anymore.

I kept this plugin installed and it looks like the RSS feeds are back; for the moment at least.
