Re: SOPCAST VIDEO WEB RESOURCE

Hello
I am new on Serviio, but I managed having sopcast channels play on my Panasonic Viera
(I am using the Panasonic 2013 profilehttp://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=12367 )

When I use the grooyv plugin and sopcast the video stream works correctly, while I get no audio.
Could it be something I have to change in the profile?
I can post any log you should need, even if I don't see anything strange in the serviio log

Thanks for your help

Probably. Do an ffmpeg on the sopcast stream (ffmpeg -i http://localhost:8902) to find out what the streams are and then fix the panny profile appropriately, getting help from the panny thread.

Thanks I confirm it is 99% a problem related to the profile.
I just post here the workaround, maybe it can help someone.
Switching to this modified DirectTV profile (viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14745)
I can get video and audio.

I will continue in the Panasonic forum even if I am no video/audio expert so I just can give support with testing

Thanks for your help

Re: SOPCAST VIDEO WEB RESOURCE

Hello to all,

I am having a problem with my Samsung LE32D550 (D Series). Since I have updated to serviio 1.4 my sopcast channels keeps dropping every 2 minutes or so. I am using Samsung C/D profile on Windows 7. In the previous serviio version I did modified the lines in the Samsung C/D/E/ profile and it worked just fine with no drops. Any idea where and what to modify exactly for the serviio 1.4?

Thanks for your help and have a great day

Re: SOPCAST VIDEO WEB RESOURCE

Re: SOPCAST VIDEO WEB RESOURCE

I manage to make it work, thanks for your support. *I edited the Samsung C/D Profile, by inserting those two lines under the first line in the OnlineTranscoding section:
<Matches container="mpegts" vCodec="h264"/> <!-- jhb50 fixes serviio h264.ts to h264.ts transcode bug -->
<Matches container="mpeg" vCodec="h264"/> <!-- optional -->

It was an easy job, don't know why it didn't work first time.

Thank you again, ya'll doing a great work here.

Re: SOPCAST VIDEO WEB RESOURCE

This was his response, but it makes no sense to me.
Hi! So, the problem it is not at your plugin! I think i tricked serviio a little!

So, i start stream normal with this link for example " sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/122832 " normal definition, then(right click-properties-copy adress 127...)(paste on serviio, live stream) . When you play this stream on tv, it shows the message: " The file could be impossible to play" or something like that, press ok, and everything works.

Then, while this stream is playing, I play hd stream on sopcast. The sd stream stops at tv, and hd stream start at pc, at sopcast.

Then, i go to my tv, i press again on that old stream, appears that message, and hd stream works normally, without drops!

I hope you understand, my english is not very good.

Re: SOPCAST VIDEO WEB RESOURCE

Hi

I did everything as writen in the first post: put groovy file in the plug in folder; set the web resource tab, edit the profiles xml. On the TV I see Serviio Online Sopcast folder with 7 sopcast menu.
Still dropping the connection on the TV every 2 min or so - and have to manually restart.
I use Serviio 1.4 .1 and Samsung TV UE40ES6340 (E series)

Only difference to the first post is that using Serviio 1.4.1 version the profiles xml dows not have C/D/E profile (as indicated in the initial post) but E/F Samsung profile (and A, B, and C/D profiles).
I suppose this is the reason for the first line being different too:
instead of the indicated line:
<Matches container="mp4" vCodec="mpeg4" aCodec="lpcm" />
the xml contains this:
<Matches container="mp4" aCodec="lpcm"/> (missing the part - vCodec="mpeg4")
Regardles, I copied the two lines jhb50 suggested after the first line. But still dropping connection.

Pleas help.

I didn't use previous versins of serviio - so I don't know if would have worked out with them

Re: SOPCAST VIDEO WEB RESOURCE

forget it, I never got sopcast to work that way. samsung is very picky and immediately drop connection.
setup sopcast player on pc and stream dektop or better, lay down hdmi cable from pc to tv :)

Thanks

My PC is in another room than the TV set too far for direct hdmi connection. But I would try desktop streaming, but I don't know how to set it up. I heard that it can be done through VLC player but I really couldn't figure it out
Could you tell me how to set up desktop streaming - here or in PM ?

Re: SOPCAST VIDEO WEB RESOURCE

Then why bother with Serviio at all just play everything on your PC using the TV as the Monitor.

The point of Serviio and the plugin is to use DLNA to stream to your TV.
See the Wiki for the steps to stream the desktop.
Both work fine.
