http://www.hd-trailers.net provide a vast range of trailers in HD including new and upcoming release.

Curently their RSS url feed - http://feeds.hd-trailers.net/hd-trailers - does work on Serviio without any plugins.
But few issues.
1. Trailers list with no thumbnail of the movie
2. Many WARN logs as "Failed to retrieve online item information for http://trailers.apple.com.
3. No control over what quality resolution to play
4. Cant view the vast catalog of HD trailers this site contains

Ideal for Web Resource for:
Latest Trailers
Most Watched Trailers
Top 10 Movie Trailers
Opening This Weeks Trailers
Coming Soon Trailers

I know we don't readily expose it, but we do have some different RSS feeds that may alleviate some of your problems:

As for why apple.com links don't work, it's because Apple only allows web clients with the user-agent QuickTime to download trailers directly. I'm not sure if you can customize the user-agent on serviio, but if you can, it'll probably be helpful to read this post:

Last time I checked FFmpeg didn't support passing user agent (only FFplay did)

This site seems more oriented to HD trailers downloading than playing them in real time. My tests indicate that both 720 and 1080 quality videos require a bit rate in excess of the 4-5Mbps rate of most DSL internet connections. In fact the HDTrailers blog indicates that 1080P trailers are encoded at 10Mbps.

While a groovy is possible, there seems little point if the videos will not play smoothly over a normal link. Testing the links with ffplay shows jerky playback (many dropped frames) for both 720 and 1080p url's.

I have a 50meg cable connection. From the feeds Krunk has provided that work in Serviio apart from the Apple Trailers

http://feeds.hd-trailers.net/hd-trailers/480p - No issues at all
http://feeds.hd-trailers.net/hd-trailers/720p - Works flawlessly on my Bravia TV, very very rare it buffers
http://feeds.hd-trailers.net/hd-trailers/1080p - The first 30 seconds or so plays very smoothly and then starts to buffer :(

How about you can do parameters (q=720p) like you did with your Youtube Top 100 plugin, this way the user can set their preference.
I really want to see Movie Cover and wishful hope of viewing Apple trailers streamed :P
