Plugins won't work

Hi,

I've installed Serviio 0.6.1, downloaded the HULU and YOUTUBE plugins and installed them in the plugins folder (Mac OS X Lion).
Nothing shows on my online folder.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've spent hours reading through messages in the forum, couldn't find anything....

Thanks for helping!

Re: Plugins won't work

Which URLs have you added to the library under Online Sources sub tab - you can't just add the plugins?

For example, the youtube plugin does not add all youtube videos to the Online section. What it does enable serviio to understand youtube urls and how to get at the video content.

Plugins are used because it means a new version of serviio does not need to be released each time someone wants to access content that can't be retrived automatically. It also means people in the forums can write them rather than zip having to do all the work.

Re: Plugins won't work

Thanks for the quick response!

I understand that, and I try to add direct links to YouTube videos and HULU videos, and nothing shows up in my online folder... for example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvCrGHMG ... AAAAAAABAA

OR

http://www.hulu.com/watch/316060/the-da ... jan-5-2012

Both play just fine in my VLC player, but won't show up in Serviio...

Thanks!

Re: Plugins won't work

Okay, thanks for the help. So I got the YouTube and Hulu plugins to work now via the RSS feeds. But I still can't get the live streams to work. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I don't really get it.

Let's say I'm trying to get a stream off of comedycentral.com:
http://comedians.jokes.com/tom-papa/vid ... a---myface

How do I that using the new live stream feature?

Thanks!

Re: Plugins won't work

You need the actual stream URL, not the website (unless there is a plugin for it). This looks like a page URL.

Re: Plugins won't work

sorry to jump in on this thread, but i have the same problem. Being a noob to serviio, i don't understand this plugin feed thing. Could you please give me an example of how to add vimeo or megavideo feeds? preferably HD.

thanks very much
PS: i've tried adding the url link below, directly to serviio, with no luck at all:-
http://feeds.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/categories/drama/tv/list
http://feeds.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/popular/tv

Yes mate.

I got the plugin pack that has been posted in the Sticky. I extracted all the .groovy files to the plugin folder...is that okay? If so, what next?

Re: Plugins won't work

That worked almost instantly.

But i thought that i should be able to do a search for videos...is this not possible?

Also from the dropdown options, i chose Atom...is that correct?

Lastlly why do bbc iplayer and youtube not work?

Many thanks again!

Re: Plugins won't work

The current You-tube plug-in only has a minor problem if you have selected medium quality. You can correct it by using high quality or apply the patch to the plugin posted at http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3276&start=110 I assume the official plugin will be fixed soon but it does not need to wait for the next release.
