THIS IS NOW NOT WORKING ANYMORE.

To view BBC iPlayer videos you will need the BBC iPlayer plugin.

List of feeds is here.

Example:

  Code:
http://feeds.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/categories/drama/tv/list

An example of how to play a single programme go here.

I couldn't see this link on the list of feeds, sometimes you need to do a bit of digging
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/tv/categories/music

also, I had confirmation today that iplayer do plan to provide series related rss feeds (soon),
when that goes live will be able to add individual programmes and the feed will list all the available eastenders episodes for example, cool huh... never hurts to ask :)

Zip, I had a thought yesterday - iPlayer on iPad has subtitles for programmes. I see from catching a regular sample iPlayer stream from the Serviio transcode cache that the full quality broadcasts don't seem to have any subs embedded. So, did you see any reference to srt files in the transactions you analysed to make the Groovy plugin? It would be a nice addition for TVs that support external srts.

There are, but they are not in .srt.

Is it encoded or in some kind of plain text-ish format. Someone on here could perhaps work out a conversion to srt which could be included in a future Serviio.

I have successfully installed the iPlayer plugin, and my DLNA box (WD TV Live) is correctly listing the programmes available. But when I try to play any of them it tells it tells me that the file format is unplayable. The only relevant setting that I can find is transcoding, which I have enabled.

Does anyone have any ideas about this please?

I dont think you need transcoding enabled as all online sources are transcoded. Well on my ps3 all online streams work fine without transcoding on including youtube and iplayer.
