Establishing Profile for Philips PFl8404

I have a Philips 37PFL8404, which is also DLNA certified. Unfortunately it is Level 1.0. And very limited in profiles according the DLNA certication.
Would it be possible to develop a limited but workable profile for this device?

Considering the Development shown with the Sony BDP-S3/4/570 I believe a lot can be done, to play at least some files :)

Thanks in advance

Re: Establishing Profile for Philips PFl8404

Just installed the Intel PNP tools, however it does not appear in the PNP list from device spy.

Checking the console on my Serviio installation it is shown. How can I provide a more detailed list of the supported formats now?

Does it show as Unrecognized device in Serviio console?

can you remove the device from the list, enable debug log and start serviio again... then post the log? It should help me to create an autodetecting profile

Petr,

Attached is a Debug log file. The device is at IP 192.168.1.5. (I sent the whole thing, just to be sure that all info is included)

Thanks!

Re: Establishing Profile for Philips PFl8404

Ok, so we can try with a simple profile that detects the TV automatically:

  Code:
<Profile id="14" name="Phillips TV" extendsProfileId="1">
      <Detection>
         <HttpHeaders>
            <User-Agent>Allegro-Software-WebClient.*</User-Agent>
         </HttpHeaders>
      </Detection>
</Profile>

Remove your TV from the renderers list, add this to profiles.xml, restart Serviio service and it should add your TV to the renderers list with this profile assigned to it.

Re: Establishing Profile for Philips PFl8404

Petr,

Yes, it works, the television has been found using this profile. I have been able to play DIVX and MPEG2 files without problems.
I will check later which formats from the test files it accepts, and which have to be transcoded. I believe it accepts MP4 as well. (Since it has an Cable Tuner built in)

Greetings,

Willems

Re: Establishing Profile for Philips PFl8404

Hello Petr,

I have the same issue as Willems but with a Sony Bravia TV. 52XBR9 to be specific. It shows as Unrecognized device in Serviio console with IP 192.168.1.68 . I've turned on the debug and attached the serviio.log for your review if possible. I don't really know why it is not picking the profile #9 for Sony Bravia.

Thank you very much!
Tim

This question has nothing to do with Phillips device, please don't hijack this thread. Create a new topic in Sony section.
