stream desktop to philips tv

hi

did anyone manage to stream his desktop to a philips tv?
i'm runnig ubuntu 11.10 64bit and try to stream it on my philips 7606 tv using the instructions provided on the wiki.
when i try to play the stream on the tv i get a "File could not be read/found" message (translated from german).
to me it seems like the tv has issues with the encoding of the stream.

did anyone find settings that would work with the 2011 models of philips?

many thanks in advance!

Re: stream desktop to philips tv

i've worked my way through this thread already.
my cpu is fast enought and also the 'ffmpeg -i' command seems to give me correct stream information.
i've read in other forums that the internal media player of philips tvs quite picky so i'm wondering if anyone could get it working on a philips tv?

Re: stream desktop to philips tv

ok, i played with the codecs but i couldn't get it working.
then i checked the log file and i get the following message everytime i want to start the stream:

  Code:
WARN  [ContentDirectory] Object with id V_OF$OI1000000000080001 doesn't exist

does anyone know what could cause this message?

i'm using vlc 1.1.12 on ubuntu 11.10 64bit.

ffmpeg -i "http://localhost:8081/desk.ts" command is giving me:
  Code:
Input #0, mpegts, from 'http://localhost:8081/desk.ts':

Re: stream desktop to philips tv

i don't think anymore that my error is codec related.
anytime i want start the desktop stream i'm getting the following messages in the serviio log:

  Code:
2012-01-24 20:39:48,021 DEBUG [ContentDirectory] Browse() called for renderer NMR (profile 1) with parameters: objectID = V_OF$OI1000000000080001, browseFlag = BrowseMetadata, filter = @id,@childCount,@parentID,dc:title,dc:date,upnp:album,upnp:artist,upnp:actor,upnp:genre,upnp:director,upnp:producer,upnp:region,upnp:rating,res,res@protocolInfo,res@size,res@duration,res@resolution, startIndex = 0, count = 1, sortCriteria =
2012-01-24 20:39:48,021 WARN  [ContentDirectory] Object with id V_OF$OI1000000000080001 doesn't exist

it seems that the onjectID value V_OF$OI1000000000080001 is not correct, all other entries show a objectID of just V_OF

does anyone know what these could mean?

thanks!
