Serviio and WAK3300

I've got a rather old Philips UPnP player/alarm clock, WAK3300.

Unfortunately, it does not work with my Serviio server. Serviio can be seen in the Audio Source list, but when it is selected, nothing happens - not even the root menu is displayed. Serviio log does not show anything.

WAK3300 works fine with TVersity, Serviio works fine with all Android UPnP players...

If Serviio is seen on WAK menu, you should have something in detailed serviio log file.

Could you provide this : viewtopic.php?f=5&t=19

Re: Serviio and WAK3300

Do you try with mp3 files ? (audio/mpeg mime-type should be good).

Please set a Static IP address on your device.(Don't use DHCP)

Re: Serviio and WAK3300

I think the menu issue is somewhat unrelated to the transcoding issue...

I have tried various options with TVersity and I have found a curious problem: all songs were played (i.e. transcoded) correctly when accessed directly from the menu, however, when I tried to use Android UPnP control point, only MP3 would play. When I changed TVersity option to force Audio MP3 player, it worked with all songs.

Now that got me thinking and I tried to use the control point with Serviio and, indeed, only songs which are originally in MP3 play at all...

However, this does not explain the menu issue: it should work even if the transcoding doesn't, right? I think so as I have a third UPnP server (from my router) and it does not share any items and still the upper level menus are visible...

Re: Serviio and WAK3300

I have found a rather interesting workaround... There is software called BubbleUPnP Server - it does not work standalone as UPnP AV server, but rather creates a proxy server (with transcoding, playlist queues, etc.). If I select the proxy server, I can see Serviio menus etc. exactly as I have created them.

Of course, it would be simpler if WAK simply worked with Serviio menus, but for now it will do.
