Re: Stream video from internet

There are many streams on http://www.uitzendinggemist.nl/
Also, there are a few live channels on http://www.nederland24.nl

It would be great if those were added!

Re: Stream video from internet

For dutch user this following site offers interesting feeds.

http://www.uitzendinggemist.nl/
http://www.rtl.nl/service/gemist/home/

Although I think they don't have a nice API I already found an 'working' Java implementation Plugin for PS3 Media Server, see http://code.google.com/p/uitzendinggemist-dlna/

Kind regards,
J.

svtplay.se

A site offering flash and/or mp4 videos.

svtplay.se is the major/best/interesting site for streamed TV content in Sweden

The attached bourne shell script for OpenBSD-like systems shows how to get at the real streams given one has the starter URL for a particular show.
Shell script is courtesy another swede, not me.
Afore ye takes it in hand, be sure he agrees: contact via me, initially.

A starter URL could be

http://svtplay.se/t/136459/hung

for the current instalment for the series "Hung".

Serviio 2.3 in a jail on TrueNAS 13 running on an HP N54L w 5*4 TB spinning rust disks.
The media files are on the same machine.

Re: Stream video from internet

Do we have an ETA for this feature?
Is any help needed?

Please make sure it supports transcoding ASF/WMV8 to MPEG2, as my TV is very limited in codecs ...
Here's an example feed:

Re: Stream video from internet

I have basic feed streaming ready, need to put some UI together and then the first beta will be out. Should be soon. Transcoding will be driven by the same transcoding configuration that's there for the local files, so if your profile is correct you should have no problems.

Will this be a public beta? Or only for the beta test group? (Yes, I'm interested :) )

Re: Stream video from internet

Although it's great that a lot of media servers are offering online content streaming, most of them only offer the common Hulu, abc, nbc, and a ton or content only accessible if you are in the US. Unfortunately, for us outside the US, like us outside the UK, we can't access those streams like we can't access the BBC streams. Having the option to manually add content providers would be nice, and if that's not possible, having some of the most popular Canadian content providers would be nice

Space - http://watch.spacecast.com/
CTV- http://watch.ctv.ca/
Global - ttp://www.globaltv.com/video/index.html
CBC - http://www.cbc.ca/video/#
TSN - http://watch.tsn.ca/

there are more but these cover most of the prime time content

Re: Stream video from internet

by the way, i just wanted to say that after testing many options, Serviio is the best dlna media server I could find both feature, functionality and reliability wise.

Thanks for the good work. I'll definitely be suggesting it to anyone that asks..

Re: Stream video from internet

Hi there,

during the last days I tried around with many tools (and combination of tools) to complete the following task: DLNA-live-stream my desktop to my Samsung TV. Benefit: my TV could do ANYTHING my Laptop can (with slight lag). However I was not successfull and neither were all the guys I found on google. But as you will implement internet streaming there might be a new chance: VLC Player allows for capturing your screen (screen://) and also can stream to a url. This can be done via UDP/RTP/MMS (unicast or multicast). So basically what I can do is stream my desktop to let's say rtp://127.0.0.1:12345. Is there any chance the web streaming enabled version of serviiio could pick this up?

Edit: I could beta test this on PC/Mac

Hooray on this :-)

Maybe in a future version this could be implemented directly into serviio together with audio (which vlc can't do atm). serviio would be the first media server on the market to do this. When you get lag/video quality right this would mean endless possibilities without beeing restricted to using a video cable or expensive "wireless-hdmi" hardware.
