DLNA server side search

Search via the CDS API from the ServiiGO client works very well, but search via DLNA does not appear to be supported (I tried UPnPlay and BubbleUPnP). It would be nice to have DLNA search enabled.

I dont know of any DNLA players having search. Unless someone makes a Samsung or Sony TV app that supports CDS API

Currently ServiiGo and new MediaServer (Serviio 1.4) have search as they use Serviio CDS API

It may not be widely supported in players (player software is widely regarded as being pretty lousy), but it is part of the spec and there are client applications that support it -- it works great from BubbleUPnP on Android connecting to miniDLNA on my NAS.

I agree that server side search would be a great benefit for Serviio.

I am using Bubble UPnP as a controller on Android (as probably most Android users), and together with Serviio it is a dreamteam. The only thing I am badly missing is server side search. Would be very great if this could be available sometime in the future.

Thanks for this great software!

this would be great.

Minidlna has this feature and works for example very well with Plugplayer on Apple mobile devices.

Denon HEOS client uses DLNA search (also in the newest Control4 driver for HEOS integration) works with Twonky and Access UPNP servers, but it's a shame that there is no support for it in Serviio
